He he he...I imagine there's a forum for just about anything and everything nowadays, and I just found what I never was looking for. ![]() I'm just a singer (bashfully), not a DJ, but I thought this to be interesting and maybe some fun to be able to relate to other singers and DJs about the topic. My name is Perry. I live in IN. I'm 41 years old, and started trying to sing karaoke a couple years ago. Why? My life was getting a bit redundant, and I've always been kinda shy, so I thought this might help me overcome any social anxieties that I've diagnosed myself with over the years. ![]() I'm a truck driver. But not the kind who is all over the country typically. I've worked for the same company for about 8 years, been going to the same place for the same amount of time, and I unload my truck at several locations myself, kind of like the UPS or Fed Ex guy, but more casually dressed. I started this karaoke thing on a dare from someone who provoked me at a hotel lounge a couple years ago, and I've been hooked ever since. This is in a different state than where I live. I haven't done much in my hometown as far as the karaoke thing.(maybe better off...if people don't know me, they won't be offended by my singing) ![]() And the truck driving thing helps me get plenty of practice, I mean, what else do I have to keep me awake? I started out doing country music...Toby Keith, George Strait, Lone Star, and others that I've forgotten by now because I've turned in a different direction, something more natural to me overall...ROCK! And I have to say that my voice sounds the most like Chris Cornell from the group Audioslave, hence my username here. I also do Pearl Jam, Meatloaf, Foo Fighters, Staind, Eagles, Steppenwolf, just about anything that I've practiced, I won't go in blindly. ![]() And the place that I sing at always has the latest monthly rock CD+G from Top Hits Monthly, so I'm totally addicted. I could go on and on here, but this is just an intro, so I'll cut it here. I hope to learn something here as well as listen to other's experiences. Thanks for having me. Perry :handshake: |

Ah ha ha ha....no dear, no basketball. I'm lucky to have enough wind for this singing thing. I'm also an inch short of 6' tall, so I wouldn't want to end up on the bottom side of a size 14. :newlol: But my oh my, thanks for the welcome. What the welcome wagon lacks in quantity, it sure makes up for in quality.............. ![]() See ya around. Perry |
