Post subject:  Scoring System

Hello all.  New to the forum.  I have a friend with an older home karaoke system.  It has a scoring system built in.  Basically after you finish it rates your performance from 1-100.  My wife loves this feature and I was wondering if there are any products out there to add to a CAVS player that provides this feature?

Thanks,
Mark

I used a couple of these systems and found them to be not really accurate. I may be wrong but from what I have seen, it rates based on how on key you are and how loud you are, not necessarily the best vocal quality. So, as long as you sing on key and loud, you get top scores. Again, I didn't have much time to do a detailed tests but I was able to get 100 score everytime. If I can get 100 score it's not really reliable. LOL It's not really worth it my opinion. Just a thought.

Pioneer used to have something like that.  Didn't take into account of actual singing ability.  It sensed the key of the music & the key of the voice - whether it was in key or in harmony & would score you from that.  Thing is, you could literally hum the entire song & get a perfect score.  Not too reliable.
