anyone ever tried to contact a karaoke manufacturer to request them to make a song?  there's lots of songs that can't be found on karaoke that should be.  just a curious thought that ran through my mind a few minutes ago.  shouldn't be hard to catch it.  my mins is very slow these days......what was i saying?  oh yeah.  i was thinking of contacting sound choice (i prefer most of their arrangements to others) about making a few songs that i can't find anywhere....wait, did i already say that part?  anyway....your thoughts? :thinkin:

Don't remember now where I saw it, but I believe they, (manufactures) have a policy, that to reproduce a certain song, it has to stay at a certin level on the charts for a certain length of time.  There are many songs I would like to see them make also.  But I realize it costs them to have their studios reproduce these.  I guess they have to use some type of calculation to go by.

Sound Choice has their own forum that actively takes (and often times will produce) requests - provided they get enough interest & they are able to obtain the license.

retailer karaoke.com also has a manufacturer's thread, and the manus USED to be very active in there... I believe you can email the reps directly for CB & SC. And I used to be a member of CB's site too... where they took requests.

Singtotheworld also does this!

It's really kewl to see your requests come to life that way! I remember one time joking on the SCBB saying "as soon as SC re-releases Billy Joel's "All About Soul" I'd die a happy man", and Bob C, the administrator of the company and the promiment spokesperson on the website replied back "prepare to have your affairs in order" and spoke on a release date like the next month!

There are lots of threads over there that talk about artists that are now karaoke nonos (they're refusing karaoke licensing, or are too expensive to consider).

In fact, it was because of SC not getting licensing at that time for Evanescence's "Bring Me To Life", I started looking around at other versions, and Lisa from STTW contacted me that they'd just gotten that license from their "bought in" shared agreement with another brit company... I tried the sample, it sounded excellent, and I thought to myself, "Self, try this... and you can say you did!"

The disc is STILL one of my all-time favorites I've ever purchased. Even moreso, as STTW decided to redo the song themselves, and in my opinion, didn't do as good a job. I literally have a rare disc!
