To keep current, you might want to check out ergmusic.com or promoonly.com - there are other subscription services as well. I get ERG's "NuMusic Traxx", which come out about every two weeks - covers essential pop, urban, country, rock and some dance. Has paid for itself many times over. For wedding and other more conventional mobile work, there are many compilations that cover most essential genres and periods. Time Life has some nice series for this, or most any large retailer. |

For my DJ music I check into all of the charts on BillBoard.com about once every 2-3 weeks then go download the most current chartoppers!! Make sure you preview them first to make sure they work as dance music!! Then, there are also the classics....you can do a google search for wedding DJs and read their playlists to get a good idea of all of the classic dance music you'll need. |

I remix on the fly, and vinyl is thet last thing I'd ever use. MP3's and CD's have the same response with the correct player. |

MICBOB Check out the mobile beat website and there you will find a list of the top 200 requested songs for dance wedding parties etc. I would search and look up party songs and there you will also find many COMPILATIONS of Party Type Music that you can buy online or your local store. Try and look for songs by ORIGINAL ARTISTS. You will find when doing parties and weddings etc, That the NEW HIP music is really not needed. Look at the top 200 songs and start from there |
