Hi. I am new to the fun of karaoke. My wife loves it and dared me to do it after she did a fantastic "Let me entertain you, with leg kicks and all. For her bday, I got her some piece of junk from Toys R Us, which broke in a matter of minutes. I took it back and got a Vocopro system, which also broke in less than a week. Then after doing some research here, decided on the Fender PD-150 with a Pioneer deck--the kind with the CDg, DVD switch. So far it is great. The portability and sound from the Fender is great for someone like me, who is not doing high end club stuff, but still wants some power and control at home and when bringing to parties. Plus I got it for less that $500 (the PD-150, that is). So, I spent a lot more than I originally wanted to. But you really do get what you pay for. And for something like this, which I can see using for a long time, it is an investment well spent. I would recommend the PD-150 for serious newbies like me, who are a bit more picky about their sound than the average joe. Thanks for all the good advice on the forum! |

First of all, good choice and I hope you 2 have fun. Secondly, you made my day with the above statement. Thank you. |

Thanks! A couple things I am having trouble with is that I want to back up my cdgs. I have Nero and an NEC DVD writer that supposedly supports cdg writing. I tried to copy a disk but it didn't copy the g track. Do I need other software to do this? What are bin files? Also, what if I wanted to make mp3-gs with the cdgs. CAn I do that with some other type of software? Assuming I have a laptop with video out, can I then hook my laptop up to the PD-150? Thanks in advance! |

Quote: A couple things I am having trouble with is that I want to back up my cdgs. Only one proven way is to use a Plextor CD reader/writer. Goto MTU's website http://www.mtu.com/karaoke-products.htm and read up on Microstudio Software and Karaoke Home Producer Software Quote: Assuming I have a laptop with video out, can I then hook my laptop up to the PD-150? Yes, but you'll need hosting software like MTU's Hoster or Winamp, PCKJ. Do a search with http://www.karaoke-forum.com/search.php and use the following keywords PC Hosting Software

Thanks. Karaoke is so fun and cost effective--at least that's how I rationalized all the equipment I just bought! |

I'm surprised my vocopro still works considering all the negative comments I've heard about their merchandise. The record/play buttons are starting to show some wear and tear, though, so I don't think it's long for this world. |
