Is there any way to convert .kar files to mp3s?? I tried to use DBPoweramp to do it, but the kar file doesn't even show up as an option to choose. |

.kar files are midi with lyric. There must be an audio software that read midi file but I dont think it will retain the graphic. My way is to record it. Band-In-A-Box should be able to convert the file to wav directly. From wav.-->mp3 |

There are tons of .kar files on the Net and are mostly free(for home use). At home I use them alot for singing practice esp. when I dont have the real tracks. If you have Band-in-A- Box you can do a lot to it. A free software that you may want to try is lyrics4You. Its a midi player that can do more and have a funtion where you can add in the lyric to a midi file if it does not have one. The guy who write it is a member to this forum. google lyrics4You |

Thanks, I will check it out, that sounds like a good alternative if you just want to practice a song to perform that you won't be posting here. I appreciate your help! -Allison |

PowerKaraoke can be used to convert KAR to CD+G/MP3+G. The quality however depends on your soundcard, as it will be used to convert MIDI (KAR) to regular WAV audio file. |
