Any other suggestions? mixer info: http://www.audio2000s.com/products/mixe ... kj7300.htm Generally anything designed for "karaoke" isn't worth it's weight in parts. This mixer is very limited & hard to expand on if needed. The effects built in are a joke & can't be changed - so you get that cheesy echo effect. Want a good mixer look at the Mackie CFX12, right about $500, but well worth it & you DO get what you pay for. You could go with Behringer mixers, I personally hate them as they don't sound as clean, aren't the most reliable, but others swear by them & these can almost always be picked up for $300 or less - but even a Behringer would be better that the AKJ. Also look in the Yamaha MG series. You will have to venture OUT of a karaoke store & into a music store to get any of the mentioned boards. But you'll be glad you did!!! |

lonman, Thanks for the advice. I did look into those mixers you suggested. The only question I have is hm... it seems like they don't have the key changer built in the mixer. I have to buy a separate key changer myself? |

I'm one of those that likes the akj7000 and 7050 mixers... because of the key changers, because of the mic connections... For a mobile unit, it's a nice, sturdy mixer. BUT, in all honesty, you were asking if the unit was "nice", and then later, clarified what you liked about it. A side-by-side comparison of the AKJ mixers and any good "pro" mixer will not really hold water. BUT when you realize the key change, the triple video outs for multiple video ins, the AKJs do stand on their own... if not a bit of a peg-leg type of standing. If you have multiple music sources, you will STILL need a CHANNEL mixer to help you with that. If you're playing off a SINGLE unit, the AKJ can and does work for ya! |

I have to buy a separate key changer myself? What player do you have. Most (at least many) players have a key changer built in. Every player i've owned has had one already built in. Otherwise, then yes, that would be the only drawback & an outboard key changer could be purchased. |

I have a CAVS 203. It does have a mixer and key changer built in, but it sounds awful. Lots of noises. That's why i'm planing to buy a separate mixer. However, I can get rid of the noises by turning off the "karaoke" mode meaning it just plays a song like a regular cd/dvd player plays. And the bad thing is the key changer wont' work if I turn the karaoke mode off |

Yeah i've heard bad things about that player. Might consider going with the RSQ/JVC single tray (or trip tray), changers in these are pretty decent. |
