I don't much care for Karaoke Contests..I prefer it when everyone is listening and having fun and supporting whoever is singing..but...places still have contests..so here is an idea...u go sing karaoke cuz u like 2 sing right?..long rotations are a bummer..seems like u never get to sing right?..so..my idea is have a contest on every round...the best performance on each round gets to sing another song (in addition to their normal song)..each round MUST have a different winner (although u can win more than once in a given night).
Getting to sing another song is better than some T-shirt...just a thought.

I dunno--sounds like a good way to bollocks up a good show.

First, you have to interrupt the flow of your show each rotation as you decide who was the best performance during the last round.  Over the course of the night you could be wasting 5-10 opportunities for singers to sing just by dealing with the judging, etc.  

Then, who decides who was the best during the last round?  As a KJ I don't want that responsibility!

Finally, why create hard feelings among the singers who did not win but thought they should of?  

Nope--sounds like a lose/lose situation to me.  Back to the drawing board Renoman!

That might not work so well at those popular shows.... You know... the ones with 25 plus waiting to sing. At shows like that, sometimes you're lucky if you get up to sing a second time in the night. I know, that I wouldn't want to come back to a show like that, where I'm waiting patiently for my turn to sing, and then I get bumped because someone got to sing a two-fer due to this contest... And, I would spread the word too.
