I have a pioneer cd+g player I use in my rig, I havn't seen anyone else using them. It was pretty pricy though. I love it, it has never given me a problem i see mention of Vocopro, Numark, JVC but never Pioneer. Why?

Which Pioneer are you talking about.  We use the V-10 Twin Tray and IMO the best out there unfortunately they're not produced any more.

Mainly because Pioneer is out of the commercial karaoke game.  They still make a couple of karaoke compatible players, but nothing like their players of the past as far as long term reliability in a commercial setting.  I still have 4 Laserdisc/cdg combo players, 3 of which are almost dead, but they definately lasted over 14 years working 7 nights a week.  They actually still play the lasers fine, just losing their trackability on the cdg's.  Also have the V-10 dual tray & it is (was) also one of the best players out.
Nowdays I go with the JVC/RSQ.

I use a Pioneer  V-10 dual tray and  it has been and still is a great player.  I wish I could find another one.  I  bougt a JVC in May and only used it at home four or five times to get used to it and then at two shows before the trays started getting stuck and would not open.  It made quite a racket  from day one, when  the trays would open and close, but thought that was just the way it was supposed to sound. It had seemed to stick a couple of times. Finally it just would not open at all!! Not just one tray  but all of them. At first the third tray stuck, then one and two, they eventually opened but the 3rd tray would not.  I had the player less than a month and was only used about 12  hours all together. They worked on it and because they felt it still wasn't right, they sent it to the manufacturer.  This process took til August.  When manufacturer shipped it back, it was damaged  in shipping. Another month passed and I finally received what is supposed to be a new player last week!   We are not sure that  it is actually new, though.  I had told the retailer under the circumstances, that  they needed to replace it with a new player and anything else would  not be acceptable.

Have not had time to check it out since I got it back.  Hope to do so, later today or tomorrow I like the features on the JVC, but I still like the Pioneer  V-10  the best  even before all the problems.

within' that small amount of time, you could have sent the unit back for repair/replacement under warrenty!

I've got two of the JVC players, and love them to death. After three years, I had a small problem with the video scrolling. I've found out what I need to do to fix it... a small screw that needs to be adjusted while the unit is in play. Probably due to the nature of the mobile bouncing around!

I too have the Pioneer PD-V10G. Remarkable unit, BUT, I did just purchase the NUMARK CDN25+G. Used it for the first time last Saturday at an eight hour gig. It was flawless. I also have a (3 actually) Pioneer CLD-V121G for my laser discs AND my cdg's, just in case. As far as the lack of a key changer on the Numark, I have a Gemini KM 707 Pre-amp/Mixer (3 of those too) with all the "bells and whistles" that a KJ could want or need. I'm contemplating selling the V-10, which is in EXCELLENT condition. ( original packing, remote still in original wrap, manual, etc.) but....I hate to give up "good stuff" that isn't avaiable anymore...hence the 3 Gemini KM 707's.
Yeah, it was priced fairly high when it first hit the market, but reliability was not a question. So....if some one wants to make me an offer I can't refuse....let's test the waters before I put it up on E-bay.   :thinkin:

As far as the Numark CDN25+G is concerned, just send it back to Numark. They have a decent turn-around time...about 7 to 10 days....which is actually excellent in this business. Believe it or not, I'm VERY happy with the performance so far on the Numark. :D I'm sure it's just a minor problem. I know a couple of KJ's that bought them when they first came out and they haven't had any problems with theirs either.
Probably just a fluke...it happens with every manufacturer on the planet!!
