Does anyone out there know what the longest Karaoke song available is ???

I am just curious...I know Sound Choice's "Only Woman bleed" by Alice Cooper is 6 minutes long but I am sure something else out there could beat it ??

I would say it would be either "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" by Meatloaf or "American Pie" by Don McClen.  Both or which are 8 plus almost 9 minute songs.  Of course "Stairway To Heaven" is right in the race for the longest song too.

Any others I've forgotten about??

Paradise By The Dashboard Light comes in at 8:29.

American Pie is 8:50

Free Bird is 9:25.

Bat Out Of Hell is 9:48

Kashmir - 7:54

Stairway To Heaven - 8:03

Why do you ask?

Lonman, Was "Alices Restaurant"  ever made into a karaoke version ?  Just curious.  In the event there happens to be a karaoke version of Arlo Guthries story/song that'd be over 15 minutes.

I assume that even if it were made into a Karaoke version, it would've been abbreviated.

ADDED IN:

Just did a quick websearch, a site called Kareoke.com (we put the E in kareoke...LOL)
list's that song on their party pack..

Serial # : SGNUPPV2
Volume : Party Pack v.2 1234 Songs - (requires CVS-202G Player)
This item is a : CD+G

So it exists I suppose. As to the song length on karaoke compared to the original version, haven't a clue.  Certainly might be a candidate for longest song, since much of the appeal of that song in the 1960's was the memory game aspect.

Wow!  And I thought my doing Rapper's Delight was hogging the mic at 7:15! (SoundChoice - other versions are usually around 5 minutes).

Hey Badsinger,  Alot of the late 60's songs went on and on, seemed like forever. During the "psychedelic era" of rock, I can think of a few songs we played in bands that just dragged on. A few of the doors songs, Iron Butterfly (innagodadevida), etc.. Even a few of the Beatles songs were long (By todays standards)

I don't recall about "Hey Jude", The single (45 rpm) released in the United States seemed like 20 minutes, yet it was only a little over 7 minutes..  Was there a non-US version released that went that long ?   That would've been around the Beatles White album period, but I think it was on "Let it be". That was one of the first singles to go over 3 or 4 minutes....the beginning of the period of the "endless songs".

I find the thought of McCartney performing "When I'm 64" (in about a year) pretty humorous.

I'd think there's a Karaoke version of "I'd do anything for love".. I see that two Meatloaf songs were already brought up here, yet how about the length of this particular Meatloaf song ? The original song was 10 minutes or longer..  That might also be a candidate for the "long song" list, but I'm sure they've cut the instrumentals out've this song..

I wanna say that November Rain by G-n-R Goes pretty close to the 10 minute mark.

However, for my money, two songs that FEEL like the longest songs are The Rose and My Heart Will Go On!

Just curious... myself I find it rude when someone wants to sing one of the lenghty songs at a show.

Oh boy, I hate it when there are too many people singing those loooooong songs. The bigest problem here is that most of the local karaoke songs are more than 6 mins long and 8min long songs are not uncommon.
The good thing about those songs are they are mostly dance songs, so there are always people dancing to the songs.

Amarican Pie, you can dance to it, and when I was a KJ I normaly give the shorter version unless ofcoures I know the singer well.
