i got a disk, while playing it on my pc i noticed that the vocals are in it.. i heard it before i purchased it, i wouldnt be out alot of i did not play it, but it sounds SOOOOOO good ($2.50 no less! )..HOW to get the vocals outta that sucker? is there something on the RSQ333 that would do it, or maybe mute it a little more that a singer is able to sing OVER that ruckus?
if not, ill check out peavy or call my local shoppe here and see if they can advise me on where to hook up the heads so i can turn a channel off...but i dont think that is gonna work either, even when i adjust the speakers on my pc, i can still HEAR it, although its a HAIR quieter.
any ideas? if not, ill just scrap it, it was only $2.50.. or set it aside til i can maybe figure something out.
Thank ya,
Candy

Not sure I understand. You bought a karaoke cdg & it has the vocals?
Are you sure you aren't just playing the demonstration side & the instrumentals are on the latter half of the disc. Not saying that you didn't already think of that, but I have had some people wonder why their disc only had vocals.
What brand of disc is it? There were a couple of brands that I know of that you actually had to hit the multiplex option to remove the demonstration vocals - most of the Superstar line was like this - at least on the players I use. You'd have to check the players capability for this. Oftentimes it's somewhere on the remote control that you have to change that.

A Backstage that sounds GOOD??? Wow, I really didn't know one of those existed  Just kidding. Every manufacturer has a winner here & there. Which disc is it - #?
If it's a multiplex, chances are you need to engage the multiplex on the player. You would need to check your manual as I am not familiar enough with the JVC/RSQ players functions to be able to tell you how to access it.

I noticed that some of the CD-Gs that has a vocal track has it only on one side of the stereo. It says turn the balance to right channel or left channel to filter out the vocal. I would give that a try as well.

Your problem is easy to solve. Press the MPX button until the vocals disappear. It will change from left to right to off. If they're only on one side then one of the two settings will make them disappear. Remember the background vocals on both sides shouldn't disappear when you get it set correctly.
And I've love to know a backstage disc that actually sounds good myself. I've avoided them and NuTech like the plague....

SOME of the multiplex weren't just left & right, but the was triggered between digital & analog. Digital would be the vocal version & analog would be the instrumental version (which in reality was still digital).
Nu-Tech actually DID have a couple of good discs out at one time - main reason why was because they "borrowed" the music from other manus & added their own graphics & logos.

I did managed to find some great backing from Backsatge/Karaoke Hits or Nutech.. which all appears to be made by the same company;
Karaoke Hits Volume 20, please, check this:
www.singersshowcase.com/song.php?id=260 ... act2=20544
All I did here, was to lower the key by 1 and normalised at 0db.
Backstage 6017 (Elvis Presley), is also great except the whole disk was at -6 to -8 db, once normalise to 0db it sounds great!
The biggest problem with Backstage is really the overall quality, half the disk could sound ok and the other half, not even funny! I take the risk of buying them because they're VERY cheap and I'm not a KJ, just looking for a backing to record...
Pocket Song has the same problem, very often they have excellent backing with poor mixing, not enough gain but again, just need to normalise!
If I were a KJ, I would stick to brands like SC, but they often have the backing on the wrong key or too much electronic instruments in them!

All I did here, was to lower the key by 1 and normalised at 0db. Karaoke Hits also uses quite a bit of the old Pioneer laser/cdg music. The graphics aren't the same. Nutech are now part of the BMB/Nikkodo line. Backstage is just their own entity, not distributed by any of the above. Quote:
Was this a Backstage or Karaoke Hits? It says manu Backstage on the sub.
The music seemed pretty synthy & midi to me - if you get a chance, try the DK version. Pretty nice singing btw.

Lonman,
The disk was a Karaoke Hits vol 20, I was under the impression it was a Backstage, it says Made In Taiwan just like Backstage?
I do have a DK Encore collection and I do agree with you, the sound is excellent except I can't stand the vocal guide they use, way too loud on some tracks, anyways to get it out? Vocal remover type software?
DK must be an excellent brand for Karaoke bars, I love the graphic and the vocal must help people? Keep in mind that I only use these cdg's for home and to record myself.
Thanks for the nice comment, really appreciate it
