Gee, I always thought music kind of lulled women into submission.  I searched for some evidence on it and found something to the contrary, which is a summary of the study entitle, "Physiological significance of the defense response to intense auditory stimulation: a pharmacological blockade study".

"Emotional experience due to music exposure is difficult to evaluate and study in a systematic way. In a well-organized work [16] 50 normal hearing persons with no special interest in music were studied. Their task was to rate each of the 13 pieces of newly composed music according to 20 semantic scales. Differences in emotional experience have been documented between women and men, with women experiencing MORE TENSION in music, and between different age groups and with older people experiencing more attraction to music than younger ones."

Ah Hah!

Wow! Interesting. Sinatra....I plan on maybe doing some work with Music Therapy in the future. I've read that it has proven to do many miraculous things with children that have learning disablities and other focus/attention disorders. Audible Stimulation etc...

Now, don't everyone say well I've got that...I know...I know...but, there are some expecially the tater-tots that have extreme difficulties with this.

Be listening for me late Aug. Sing Proud! Live Courageously!!!  :worship:

I know a woman who plays different music for her bird than she does for herself.  Classical music is really good therapy.  I'm preparing myself to live in a home and be sedated.

Actually I'm telling the truth.  I'm slowly replacing my Karoke habit with becoming a classical music efficienado.  I think I'll go add a CD to my collection tonight.  I don't have any Devorshak yet and I like that pretty much.

I went and looked at the new 2006 Dodge Charger today that's got this huge engine in it.  A muscle machine with an auto trans.  Couldn't drive the showroom car and it was the only one they had.  Anyways I may get one of those and cruise around downtown, laying some rubber, with Beethoven booming and disturbing the street people.

That was Horshack, as I'm sure you knew.  You see, we don't have be professional singers.  We could just be professional whiners.  Look how far it took Horshak :)

I do like classical music because there are no words that might torture my already well-tortured brain.

I actually enjoy working to classical music, because it's not distracting, like music with lyrics tends to be (for me and for anyone else within earshot).

Next time you're watching a classic Bugs Bunny cartoon, listen to the music they play.  Many of those older cartoons are set to well-known classical scores, which I've always found interesting.

I actually knew someone who was in their 20's and had a vette.  He used to drive around with Classical music BLASTING.  Got lots of strange looks.

BTW, there is a known increase in intelligence for a short time when listening to music from the Baroque period.  I can't remember the source, but it was done as a training study at a university.
