[font=Trebuchet MS]I know that I have previously discussed this, however I notice that a great deal of members still have been inactive (Not Posting)

Especially members who are active in Singers Showcase!

I can NO LONGER stop the automated process that deletes members who are inactive (again not posting in the forums)

In order to maintain your membership with this site it is required that you post in the forums. Posts that are made into the other sections that require membership (KJ Directory, Club Directory & Singer's Showcase) do not count. The system only checks for posts that are made within the forums.

I suggest that everyone at least visit and post in the forums on a minimum of a monthly basis. With all the various discussions that take place I cannot see how that would be to difficult.

Please make sure that if you are a registered member that you post in the forums! [/font]

is it just members of the forum that need to post... or is it members of the Singer's Showcase that also need to post??

Just curious cuz I know someone else asked awhile back if they are paying to be a member of SS then why should they be required to post.. when someone's getting their $$ to be a member..

OK, here's my post.  I read just about every day, but not really a 'Poster' child.  I just have to keep up on karaoke, it's an occupational hazard.
By the way, how members are there?

EVERYONE that is a registered member of the site most post in the forums.

It doesn't matter whether they are a 'Paid' member of Singers Showcase, Club Directory, The KJ Directory or any other section.

The forums database stores all member information. If there are no posts by a member the Forums automatically assume that they are inactive and will delete them. This is just the way it is. Sorry, but in order to maintain only one set of records for a member (instead of a separate username/password login for each section) it is essential that ALL MEMBERS post at least once a month. I do not see how that can be a major inconvenience as I know most members already are very actively involved!

.. settle down Phill.. I was just asking for clarification.. cuz someone else had asked that in a previous thread and I never saw that it was answered..

You know me.. I post here.. you all have a hard time shutting me up sometimes

so if we're deleted for not posting in the forums then I'd guess that would be lost revenue for SS as well... hmmm... I guess I'd recommend that the people in charge take a look at changing that around if possible because there have always been people that sub  songs but have zero interest in posting in the forums, especially cuz of most of the feuds that have taken place here in the past. It'd be a shame for KS to lose $$$ from paying customers just because they didn't feel moved to take part in the forum threads.

k.. just my thoughts on it.. I know SS has already lost some paying members and I'm not seeing a lot of new ones signing up to replace those lost ones but maybe that's just my over sight.. I'd hate to see the site go down because of the "YOU MUST POST HERE IF YOU WANT TO SING" rule leading to lost monies and memberships.

Anyways.. I'm going back to my lil corner again... do whatever.. just wondered if anyone had possibly considered the consequences.. really doesn't affect me either way I guess..

Well, if that happens I guess that happens...

Fortunately that isn't something that I see happening!

We have more members today than we did last month and every month the membership grows by leaps and bounds!  :dancin:

As far as members leaving - well that happens all the time. I don't believe that is because of the posting rule. That is an automated function built into the forums. If you are inactive why remain a member?

The fact that members participate is the entire reason to have the site in the first place. You come here to share your submissions with others then share your views. If someone doesn't wish to participate why would they even be a member <<Scratching head>> If they don't want to participate then, why would they pay to be a member?  

(reminds me of the song "The Wall" by Pink Floyd - "If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding, how can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat!")

If that is the case that people want to spend money but don't want to participate - please have these people contact me. I could use the money and they don't need to do anything except send me a check directly! That will cut out the middle man... Ha ha

Well, lets see........ I am NEVER in these forums, don't know if I can manage a post. Does it matter how long it is?  Cause I'm not much of a writer yanno.  I mean, ask anyone who chats with me, or exchanges email...... I am just normally at a loss for words.

But I can TRY to post atleast once a month.  (.... I need a "drama queen" smilie to put here....)

I'm in the mood for a good little (fun loving, not too harsh, easy-does-it kinda) fight anyhow. Maybe I'll go start a new thread and see if anyone will oblige.  :oh yeah:

Now what can I think of to start a good little spat going? Ranking? Critiques? Nah- been there, done that, wore it out. Hmmmmm...... a girlie thread- nah, done that too (was alot of fun though)....... a "Hey I'm freakin' out, what are these wierd colors" kind of post..... oh shoot, already done that one too.

Got it!!!!!.......... I'm gonna start a "Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge" thread........ woohoo. Nothing that I know of draws people into an argument quicker than defending their dang truck.

(BTW....... everyone........ Ford rules)

Sorry you feel that way, I'm not insulting your work at all, I think you run a very good website. It is some of the rules I have MO on and not with not you. I know that 99.9 percent of websites if you pay for a service, you get that service. I was commenting on that and not your work, so no need to attack me.

So I say again, If someone pays this WEBSITE and has to POST that is RULE that might need to be Rethinked. I don't care either way actually your not getting my money just my opinion, but I'm sure some who are paying are reconsidering right now some just want to sing not comment. Then KS will start to get posts with nothing really said but some smiley face doing something erotic. (boy they turn me on) So keep those smiley faces cumming people.

As for leaving,  I'm sure you can take one of those FREE minutes and delete me and my comments if you so need to.
