[glow=deepskyblue]I need some suggestions!  I'll be attending a wedding in August and there will be karaoke at the reception.  I know the groom's side of the wedding party quite well - I'm dating one of the groomsmen, another has been dating my best friend for over 3 years, and the best man is a close friend - and the guys asked me to come up with a song for them to do.  NONE of the groomsmen can sing at all, but they're all very musically inclined, otherwise.  I want it to be something funny, but not something that'll embarrass me or my best friend too much knowing that it's our boyfriends up there.  Any help that anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated! Thanx muchly.  Ciao [/glow]

I have a suggestion never use blue type on a maroon background again.  It seriously hurts the eyes.  I can't even read the post to try and help you.

I second the comment on the colors.  BTW, if you highlight the text you might be able to read it.

I'd pick something that's not difficult to sing.  IOW, nothing like 'You've lost that lovin' feelin'' or such.  Love shack can be done by the worst without it coming out too bad.  Another possibly is something like rap that doesn't require then to sing, but only speak to a tempo.  Something that has multiple artists works real well for this.

Of course you could always pick a song and have them - god forbid - practice before the event!  Again, something easy to sing is best.

lol@red background... the thought behind it was fine, but the execution.... Oy!

As for the song suggestions... lots of things come to mind.

The Tom Cruise / Anthony Edwards scene from "Top Gun" with "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'"! LOL!

Any good group song like "Friends in Low Places"

A favorite at an old gig of mine was to get five guys all up doowopin' it...

"My Girl"
"Dock O' The Bay" etc.

I might suggest something with a bit more bite - "Another One Bites The Dust"  or Alan Jackson's "I Don't Even Know Your Name"  The bride could blacken her teeth like in the video. :drunk:

Do you have any dramtic flair to you?? Everyone would go nuts over a innocent version of "Hey Big Spender"

You could make the groom or groomsman sit in a chair in front of you and sing it to him/them...it would bring the house down!!!

Oh wait, the guys are singing, not you....HARD to read that post..lol

How about "Little Red Riding Hood"

The older folks would know the song, it will be funny for the younger set, and the kids will get a kick out of the howling parts!!

And that song is pretty much monotone, so they could easily sing it!!!

Jimmy Buffet's  " Why Dont We Get Drunk And Screw" is easy and fun

or get the CD-G trak for "Tequila" (spelling) theres just one word ...people will dance and you dont have to know how to sing.
Just a Thought
Michael

I agree with Mr October.  Tequilla is perfect for nonsingers, as is the Elvis tune that was used as the theme for Space Oddysey 2001, thus spake somesuchthingoranother.

Another good choice for drunk, non-singing guys is Ring of Fire.

From the annoying smartass department:

"Thus Spake Zarathustra."  That was the title of one of Frederich Nietzsche's books.

(Zarathustra was the legendary founder of Zoroastrianism; Nietzsche was a 19th-century German philosopher.  To anticipate the logical next question, check Google yourself.)
