My collection are all in VCD. To tranfer to HD I click drag and drop. the files then will be data files. Is there any other way? |

You can just copy the dat files from the VCD's and change the extension to .mpg to get them to play. The dat files are just mpeg 1 compressed video (SVCD's are MPEG 2 compressed video) and play in nearly every normal player with just changing the extension. I've done this before to watch movies on my laptop. As for the SCDG which I am assuming you are referring to as the CAVS disc will depend on if it's a professional disc or if it's a homemade one. If it's a professional disc you can get software to play it pretty cheaply. If it's homemade the software to play it is about $70 and available from CAVS. If you use Virtual CD/DVD you could copy it to the hard drive and play it in the CAVS software by pointing to the different drive letters. |
