I need some help??? I trying submitting a song. I downloaded a karaoke version, and I use my sound recorder to record, however its a .wav and it won't allow me to submit... so can anyone help me???

Welcome to KS 05,

And to your question. Convert the file to mp3 with any mp3 encoder, but if you dont have one here is a link to LAME http://lame.sourceforge.net/

Make sure that your mp3 file is within your membership quota size, ie if you are a non-paying member dont go beyond 3mb.

Yes wavs are usually large! Mp3's are the way to go :)

:wave: [font=Comic Sans MS][/font] Another program you can use that is already provided on many computers is Music Match Jukebox or the trial version may be downloaded and used for free.  Under FILE click on CONVERT and then on the left of the new window choose the type of file WAV to be converted, the location and the name of the WAV file then on the right of the window choose the format you want to convert it to MP3, the location to send the new converted file to, and then click the button to start the conversion.  Its easy to do for a newbie and as I said you may already have this program on your computer.     :wave:

I like CDEX it is free and can use many different data rates from 24 kbps to 320kbps and even variable kbps which is becoming more and more popular.

I use dBpowerAMP music converter which is Lame based and its free. come with an ID tag reader. Does all the above and more

I have a look at CDEX
