I bought a microphone to play karaoke on my computer. It's a Sony F-V320.
When I plug it into my computer, it's working, but the sound is very low. In the volume comtrol, if I change the volume or put it to mute, nothing will happen. It will still work at a very low volume.
Is there a way to make the volume higher?
Thank you.

Goto vol control, click option and tick advanced control. You will see an Advance button below the mic channel ,Press the buttom and a window will pop up and at the left bottom coner there is an option to mic bost; tick that. Good luck

yea I tried that too. It seems any parameters that I change in my volume settings doesn't affect my microphone at all, like my computer doesn't know that a mic is connected. Do I have to install plugins or something?

check if you plugin your mic to mic in and not line in. Mic in is the green ring hole.

No you dont an an amp;you will blow your sound card.Signal from an amp goes to the speakes. Try and isolate the problem. To see if the problem is the sound card, use other mic and if it work then it may be the new mic thats the problem. Change cable too. Also see if the mic works on other system.
ps: I remember I had this problem before buy cant remember how it got solved.
Are you trying to listen to your self while singing or are you trying to record? Try opening a recording software and record you voice and see the recording vol. You should be able to record.I think some where is a control that is way down that prevent you from hearing yourself thru the speaker while you are singing or talking.

yea I can't record with it. It's like there's no mics plugged into the computer. But the strange thing is that I can hear my singing with it, but not loud enough for me. I just want to make it louder

Are you sure the mic vol is up in the playback control. For recording make sure you tick the mic as yoiur recording input.

oh, I could record with it now. But the strange thing is that I can record when I select "stereo mix" or "Mono mix" to record. When I use "microphone", nothing happens.
My microphone is not reconised as a microphone. How can I change that?
