Ive been hired to DJ/KJ a "Beach Bash " this weekend outside on the boardwalk. I want to make sure I have enough "beach type music" for both DJ & KJ. Besides BEACH BOYS , JIMMY BUFFET and some REGGAIE(SP) what are some songs or artists that would go great AT THE BEACH that everyone can sing along with etc. I imagine the age range of the people attenting would be the WHOLE RANGE from kids to seniors. Appreciate any suggestions .. Thanks ! :D |

Don't forget the Grease soundtrack songs, especially one of the most played karaoke songs "Summer Nights". |

Do a google search for Shag music. this is a type of music also referred to as beach music. it's a predominently carolina based genre, but it was inspired by the jersey shore beach bands. want an idea of what the jersey beach sound is? listen to the eddie and the cruisers movie soundtrack.... saxaphones, shuffle beats, stuff you can grab your girl to and dance under the stars and count the lights on the boardwalk... ya' know? I'm from jersey too..... asbury jukes, bruce, john cafferty, and some good shaggin' music.... -Steve |
