...but I can't figure out how to record to save my life.  

I bought Music Maker 10 Deluxe to record, and am just kind of playing it by ear trying to figure out how to record (I'm not looking for anyting professional, just enough to be able to hear me somewhat clearly, ya know?!).... my biggest hurdle so far is that my computer does not recognize that I have my microphone plugged in!?!?  Are there any easy ways for me to record?  Can someone break it down Barney style?  I'm not the greatest with computers or equipment, I just like to sing.

Double click your speaker icon in the bottom right corner and that should bring up your Audio controls... look for the Mic Input channel and make sure the little box at the bottom that says MUTE isn't checked...
