I found this site while trying to find places to sing online. This is the best place i've seen! Been listening to a few of you, and boy, I dont know if I can match up to ya or not, but i will give it a try.. Now i just have to learn how to use a program on here to convert to MP3... any suggestions or any downloadable programs that are easy?? Let me know.. =) Hope to hear some more of you soon.. !

From one newbie to another, greetings!  I found this site from a user's link in the American Idol forum.  I've been singing most of my life, but around people since I was about 14.  My mom took me to a karaoke bar (during the day so that I could get in).  My very first karaoke song ever was "What a Feeling," the theme song from Flashdance.  And it was only that one because the guy couldn't seem to put in the song that I wanted, which was "The Greatest Love of All."  The Flashdance song kept coming up, so I said ok.  :)  I was in all things choir in high school and have been doing karaoke ever since.  I never wanted anything more than to sing for a living, but I never had the nerve to actually do anything about it.  Hopefully, I can start making my way in the music world this year...

Welcome to KS Lisa. If its converting your file to mp3 then the program you need is LAME . Download it from here http://lame.sourceforge.net/. Its free.
If it is a recording software that you want then here is a free one http://audacity.sourceforge.net/. Audacity is a good program.

Good luck
