Is there a program out there that you can put the music track on one track and while burning the vocal track still play the cd+g graphics?? I like to put the music track on track 1 then record the vocals on track 2. But I have to print out the lyrics so I will have them when I record. Is there a program that allows you to do this???
I do it this way so I can get the right mix during mixdown of voice and music. I use Samplitude and Soundforge for mixing. :thinkin:

There is a trick I use for doing this.

I pan the vocals completely right, and the music completely left and then record in stereo.  You loose the stereo seperation on the music but it allows you to record both at the same time and then apply effects, compression, and more through your digital workstation.  This is a trick I use right now with a Soundcraft Compact 10 mixer and various means of playback.  It's easier if you use an external player or playback on one sound card, and record on another.

Since I recently got a 4 track recorder (analog) I'll be playing with that in the near future but one day soon I hope to drive up to Fairbanks and pick up a mixer they have on hold for me.  It's one of the new Mackie Onyx mixers and once I add a firewire card to the mixer I can do both a 2 channel mixdown of the analog output (post everything) and up to 32 tracks of digital recording (pre everything).

I dont quite get your question 'burning the vocal track and still play the cdg'? But if what you mean is recording vox on track 2 while playing music in track 1, then try CEP. I have never use it to play cdg but it can import vcd;music in track1 and you record in track 2 while the video is playing the lyric and the music from track 1.

As a last resort; import the music to track 1; open winamp and play the file( you will need a plugin to display the lyric). Record you vox in track 2. You will need a headphone for this. Then sync the vox track with the music track

We have evolved to the following setup for recording live at shows.  A delta44 is routed with the mixer output back thru 1/2 in. The mic compressor outs are routed back thru 3/4 in. The audio settings in cntrl panel record is set for M-Audio cntl panel out. That way in the delta 44 mixer out we can select 1/2 to record mixer out but with full efx it is only for playback or background fill.  With 3/4 in and 1/2 out selected it records the mics no efx and music tracks dsp with computer input. Then efx applied later. Or record mics only and later on import vocals into a multi track software such as Sonar3  Then import the music tracks, sync and mix down as usual...
