I keep everyone in the same rotation order, but put new singers about 30 minutes down (5-6 songs). I have 8-10 peeps that are my true hardcore regulars and come to my show every day, twice a week, and even followed me to a new bar. They never get bumped down, even for a new singer, because when worse comes to worse, those are the ones that secure my job and make the night work, especially at the beginning of a show!!
I agree with the "keep it consistant" theory and stay in control, and you will never have any problems except for those that would cause problems no matter what the situation!!
