I'm starting a new gig this Tuesday at bar that is bigger than the current bar I'm hosting at. I want to make a BIG impression so to speak and would like some opions on an optimum set up. let me list all the goods I have to work with excluding the players and mics Peavey PV1200-main amp & BBE 262 Sonic Maximixer 2 Peavey SP5G Speakers - mains Mackie DFX12- mixer Behringer PMX2000 Powered Mixer 2 Peavey PR12"-Passive Speakers 1 Yamaha SV15 IV- Speaker 1 Yamaha 12" floor monitor My main setup would usually include the Peavey Amp with the maximizer Peavey SP5Gs speakers along with the mackie DFX12. (usually run in stereo) I would like to switch to MONO and also inlcude the other speakers for added sound enforcement along with a singers monitor. The singers area is at the end of a rectangular dance floor with the Bar area on one side and pool tables and dinning tables on the other side of the rectangle if you can picture this ... So if I'm pointing one speaker to the bar area and one to the tables ( 1 left and 1 right) How can I fill the center of the room using my other speakers and amp ? |

Dude, You need to simplify. The mix of powered and passive gear, using a powered mixer with another mixer i can picture the big mess in front of me. Rent yourself 2 subs to throw under your peavey tops with a pv 2600 amp make sure to get a crossover. Put your 12" on the far side of the room and you should be fine |

Lyquide I think I didn'y make it clear ---The equipment listed is ALL the equipment I have It is basically 2 separate set ups I use. My 2 basic set ups include A) AMP / SONIC MAX / MACKIE MIXER / 2 15" SP5GS B)POWERED MIXER / 2 PEAVEY 12" LITE WEIGHTS Extra for back ups etc. 1 Yamaha sv15"iv Speaker / 1 Yamaha 12" floor monitor My question was really if there is a way to mix and match to enhance the overall sound and fill the bigger room and also give me a monitor for my singers. I appreciate your advice , but renting additional equipment or buyiong a bigger amp is not an option. |

it's hard it would be great to have 2 matched amps and run a 15 and 12 together on each amp but that won't work. So I guess. it's hard beacuse you want to match ohms. Ok Link your 2 - 12" for the far side of the room. and the link your floor monitor and your extra 15. I would try the floor monitor and 15 back to back and see how it goes. Run the mains as you normally would. It's kinds hard to picture the room but Ideally: Singer /\ 12floor 15main ------------15 xtra--------------15main \/ \/ \/ /\ /\ 12 rear -----------------------------------12rear |
