Post subject:  Anyone watch the CMT music awards?
They were on last night... anyone watch?
I thought it was a pretty good show... Gretchen Wilson's performance with Heart was just awesome (in my opinion)
Reba's new song "my sister" was such a great song and she looks freakin amazing! wow!
Derks Bentley's perofrmance left something to be desired... ick! I don't know if I'd even call that singing... he seemed so uncomfortable too...

and WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT THING THAT BIG & RICH DID AT THE END?? OMGAWD!!!!!!!!! that was just HORRRIBLE... I was watchin that like I'd watch fear factor when they eat bull testicles, etc... the oh-my-god-this-is-discusting-but-somehow-i-can't-turn-it-off look.... I had my finger on the remote ready to change the channel, but still somehow thought they were gonna go "JUST KIDDING" at the end of that horrible dance-mixed-puke-inducing version of "Save a Horse, Ride A Cowboy" BLEAH!!!
please... someone's GOTTA agree with me here! LOL!!

ok.... I'm gettin a little carried away! LOL!

The Loretta Lynn tribute that Martina, Gretchen and Reba did made me cry.... of course! Doesn't Martina look so cute with her little preggo belly! hee hee!

ok... I'm a nut... just wonderin if anyone else watched and what they thought!

I watched the CMT Awards last night.  I agree with you that the Wilson woman burnt the stage up!  At the end of their performance when Nancy handed Gretchen her guitar was total class!  

I don't know so much about the sound during the show.  It was so awful and sometimes non-existant.  I'm not saying that I could do better.... no wait!  Yes I could!! LOL  Then again with some of the performers they sure could have used some electronical help with masking imperfections in their vocals... not naming any names! *g* (DB was one I am speaking of btw)

Big & Rich... *thinking*  What to say.  Personally I was NOT impressed and I know there are probably many other people who would disagree with me, but like yourself I was sitting there asking myself why I was even bothering watching.  It was like you were expecting it to just be a joke and something good happen. *shrug* You know, honestly I had dreams about B&R... and no, NOT THAT KIND EITHER!!  

I have always enjoyed watching the awards show and if music is involved then you can almost bet that I am tuned in that night or taping it to watch later... sometimes both.

Totally missed it and I wanted to see it too. Thats wat happens when you dont watch much tv. B&R are writing some of the best music for 2 or 3 decades but they oughta let somebody else sing it.. Only the classics hang around forever and they might have one or two in that category already Time will tell.... Along with G W...  I have sang When I think About Cheatin 3 or 4 times now ( if you can imagine wat it wud sound like by Hank Snow) A good song can be sung (sang) by any good singer and transferred to a different genre or style.
 It is awesome...  Most songs Ill sing once or twice and thats it These folks ill be singin again and again for a long time... Love it.....

Dammit I totally MISSED IT!!!  :madgo: Ummm... because....because I was on the DANG COMPUTER! Curse this addiction!!! :grumble: I wanted to see it... maybe it will be replayed on CMT at some point.... I hope I hope... :pray:

ABSOLUTELY! wasn't that a great moment? Gretchen looked like she didn't know what to say or do! It was great!
So was her speach when she won best female video... Can you fricken IMAGINE being in her shoes? A brand new face.... just a "baby" in the music world...beating out REBA AND MARTINA?!?!?! OMG!! She musta been on top of the world!!

Sheree... if they DON'T re-run it 80 million times. I'd be surprised... I mean... how many times have I seen the crossroads with Martina and Pat Benetar.... or the Faith Hill Inside Track (or whatever that show is called) COUNTLESS!
