I have a problem with playing files on winamp.

I grab from the disc to my external hard drive using audio grabber it saves it as a Bin. File

I have the plug in for winamp to play and View my karaoke tunes but I cant get any to play.

Do I have to convert the files again somehow? to something else?

I ultimately want to run off my laptop with my External 160g hard drive.

thanks for any help
Michael

you need to convert the BIN files to mp3+g files using MP3+G toolz... then winamp can play your files...

OR

Grab NOT to .bin, but to .cdg + COMPRESSED FILE (.mp3)

In the end result, you'll have two tracks for every song. One is the music (mp3) and the other the graphics (cdg)

Hey October!

What database do you use? There's a freeware program called "CDG Autoname" that hooks into kjpro's database.

Will send it if you're interested.

actually I use MS Access......

this sucks that I have to change all 2500 bin files to mp3+G...after I do that I wont be able to make custom CD+G's unless I change em back ...aint that right?

I looked at the file you attached looks cool but it says you need KJpro an I dont want to spend 100.bucks on another program. But thanks anyway..please tell me theres a way to use it alone :)

I have downloaded the KJpro trial version.

I love the laptop karaoke so far using winamp and the plug in..
might try it at a wedding I have coming up in April.. the only thing is once in awhile I get a pop or a skip during a song minor but annoying.

really dig the help from you guys..:)

Hi Crystal :)

Thanks again
Michael

Michael couldn't you just make a copy of the .BIN files before you convert, then you will have the .BIN files in a seperate folder to use at a later date?

two thoughts Michael.

1.) yes, go ahead and convert the bin files. MP3Toolz works best for converting.

2.) use mp3toolz to convert the .mp3g files BACK to a .bin if you ever want to make another custom disc.

email if you have any questions.

You can convert the MP3+G files back to .bin and burn them.  I would be careful about successive generations of that though.  When you convert to MP3 you loose part of the sound information and subsequent converting to .bin, burn, rip to bin, convert to MP3, etc will cause quite a bit of data loss of you're careful.  Using VERY high bitrates (192kbps or better) will help, but MP3 is a lossy compression so restoring back 100% isn't possible.

Other than that - rip away!
