I just installed the new E-MU 1212m on my PC, it replaces the SB Audigy2 ZS and I can honestly say, IT'S AMAZING!!  This card uses 1/4 balanced cable for the input & output so I can finally select the +4db input on my mixer.  The Audigy2 ZS was a great card but now, my mix should be much better!  Now, I need to find a way to run the EAX Console with this card so I can still use the excellent key changer.

This card is highly recommended :oh yeah:

That is a great card to use Mickey. I am still recording songs that I post here via a SB Live drive but I do own an E-MU 1800m that I am currently setting up on a new machine I have built. This uses the same 1010PCI card as yours. I am using this for some Instrumental demo work. Like you, I am working out the details on how best to do this. I have run into some issues with other software I have experience on, such as Sonic & Cakewalk etc. and I am still playing with the best ways to patch in my hardware such as mixers, keyboards and FX processors. The system is Cubasis friendly and I still have a little bit to learn about it. I haven't used this system for any vocals yet, but as you know it can blow away my SB-Live Drive.  I don't know if you have been there or not, but I have resolved many of my issues by going to the Un-Official E-MU forum. Here you can interact with others who have the 1212m and the 1820m...By the way E-MU is also has a 1616m that will be out soon for laptops.
Goodluck with the new card!

Glad to know someone replied to this post!

I'm still trying to figure out Cubasis, I was using Audacity before for my vocal recording but this software doesn't support the Asio driver, so... bye bye!  So far, I haven't record anything with this card but the sound of it on my Monitors & Headphones is simply amazing, it uses the best D/A converter on the market, same used in the Pro Tools cards!!  No more hum or anything, still using my unbalanced cables for now but will soon use the real balanced cable and will switch to the +4db pro!  Once I record something new I will probably ask people to comment if they do noticed the difference in sound.

I will check the un-official forum, TY for the tips, I really need it!

I haven't got Cubasis completely figured out yet either. I did use their software a few years ago, but that wasn't much help, the new software has changed a lot. My recordings have all been Instrumental and I have been very pleased with the extremely clean results. I did find when that when doing multiple tracks and patches, the system I had the 1820m in couldn't handle it. Most people would probably not try to feed it as much as I do, so this would not be a problem. Basically that's why I build a new system with a lot of memory and a very high speed processor.  You should get the results you are looking for once you get past the learning curve on the software.

Well, I really want to thank you!  I went to the unofficial forum and found the answer on how to configure E-MU Patchmix to record a stereo source using WDM.  I can now use Audacity again until I figure out Cubasis, I will be recording new stuff shortly, A BIG THANKS MY FRIEND :biggrinthumb:
