I got this email from someone who says they have been doing logos for people after visiting this site. I have heard about the recent problems and wonder about this email. Has anyone else gotten one of these? What is it about. It is not connected with this site but implies it to get me to visit the sites.

This is improper useage of the site. I have explained this previously.
I apologize to those who may have received this info.
Our members are not to be treated as a lead list for anyone.
This is major violation of Karaoke Scene policies.
If this type of thing continues the violating party will be banned from the site without further notice.
Thank you,

Aloha,
That was me, I was just showing you some logos I had made and not inconjuction with KaraokeScene. Was browsing users websites and getting inspired by names and my creativity flowed and wanted to show you my vision for your name. Did not know anyone would take offence to my creativity. I now know it was a considered a problem by you and I will stop.
I'm not using KaraokeScene to browse websites, I can use any search engine on the internet to hit you.
I apologize to you Starkaraoke.
Phill, is there any way that I can post my work on here without considering it advertising? If i'm not asking for any money? Just a link, if they go they go.
I feel I can contribute, and thought I'd ask.
Thanks for your patience and understanding and look forward to my re-education and my spanking. And please consider not banning, I wil go back to the Techie area and stay, I PROMISE!
Devon

Someone who is offering a service like this... I personally don't see a problem, but I can see how it can be abused.
I know I PERSONALLY liked his work, and am contemplating going thru him, the same as I would Phill for his web servers, etc.
Maybe the wording of the thing could be reconstructed to say something similar to "this is NOT in association with KaraokeScene".
The trouble is, the way the karaokescene email looks, it will redirect you here or says that it's "from" this website.

Thank you WebGuru. I have been bitten before by those who were not on the level and looking to do mischief online over the years so I am leary. I was of the mind that if this was mischief you should know about it since your name was attached to it.
There are a lot of bad people online out there and I as a rule do not download files or visit sites unbidden from people. I am sure it was well intentioned but the way the email looked it sent up red flags.
Devon I am sorry but this is something in the world of cyberspace that can send people into virus, trojan, or pornograhic territories these days. You were sincere, but oftentimes the unknown emails like this are not. I would be glad to check it out now that I know it is legitimate.
Safe internet usage is like safe sex, you have to be careful. Don't punish him/block him, as this was a warning, I do think the policy has been spelled out here now.

Deb,
You don't click on any link if you don't feel safe. I don't click on links from anywhere, including trusted sites. They can be hacked (this one has been a few times already),... and the code changed.
I check out the code of EVERY attachment and URL.
I personally felt that Hawaii was doing a great thing. And NOT just because he's trying to get my business! ! Because he's on a karaoke site, and is interested in having a service for those of us with web pages and access.
Same as Phill is doing. But people didn't mind when he put in posts asking for that service. I just fail to see where this is so much different... other than he doesn't WORK for Karaokescene.

Hope that hard drive is what ja wanted, mon!
For those that are interested, Tig worked long and hard hours on that pc, helping me... if it had been up to me to do it, with my schedule, I would STILL not be able to do the computer shows.
The gift of the 160gb hard drive was my payment to my buddy for taking the time out of his life to work on something I just didn't have the time to do!
Thanks amigo!
