Do any of you experienced singers love certain mics?

My favorite sounding mic is the AS890 Wireless. Some notables are the legendary sm58. Another not bad mic is the pg58.

I use the pg58 mics. They have been holding up so far. A few drops. Screems ect... Hope to upgrad in the near future but will stay with shure mics for corded. Unsure for upgrade to wireless.

Greg, I find the pg58's very respectable.

Big Jimmy,
I love my PG58's except for the on/off switch. I have them taped on so I have control of the mics at the mixer. No one can turn them off at the mic. So I would like to upgrade to a switchless mic. I use multi-colored tape to cover the switch so it also dubs as a identfication if what mic they are using.

I have a sm58Beta... I used to use the straight sm58, but the quality on the beta is sooo much clearer...

I forgot my mic for a gig recently and had to use the sm58 that we keep as a spare, and OMG, the difference in quality was unreal!

Which is not to say the sm58 isn't a good mic... its certainly stood the test of time... I just prefer my new one ;)

The sm58 is hard to beat I got  couple of them but my favorite one is the access 1 It has a shorter grill and seems like its easier to work. And they are hard to get anymore My only one I lost the grill at a boat club gig and cant find one. Also have an access 3 but it doesnt seem to have the range like the others.

For my wired mic, I use only a Shure 55 replica manufactured by Suzuki. It has the fullest, phattest sound I've come across. Couple that with the cool chrome Elvis Retro look and how you can "Wrap yo' hand around it and put LOOOOOOVVVVEEEE in to it", it makes for the coolest, most different singing experience especially on Frank, Elvis, swing, jazz or blues songs. The people are somewhat unsure how to sing into it at first--as most have never touched one before. But once they figure it out they wont touch the other corded mics and more often than not will forgo the cordless mics. For cordless mics I use a Hisonic dual diversity wireless unit. Has nice clear, clean sound and put the Vocopro unit I've used to shame.

My favorite wired mic is the Audix OM5

Favorite Wireless is Sennhieser Evolutions, but I will not use these in a bar environment too expensive to replace. Use them for contests or special shows or events.

I use the Hisonic Dual wireless units for bars.
