Post subject:  Peavey Impulse speakers question

Does anyone out there had any good knowledge about the Peavey Impulse line of speakers (non-powered)? Getting my tax return back this week (yeah!), and I've checking out the 1012 8ohms model for something along the lines of a medium sized venue. Looking for background info on the sound, durability, etc. of this model 'cause I haven't had a chance to hear any at a show yet. Just mostly trying to find a good sound out of a passive 12" (Bigger speakers are starting to hurt. ). Thanks!

I HAVE A SET OF THE IMPULSE 100'S and they do work well. I bought them to use at the house. but have used them on several occasions, and they really did a decent job. the impulse 100 is a 10" long throw version of the ones you are speaking of.

I Know of another kj that uses the JBL equivalent. and they also sounded good.

Use your own judgement, it only has to sound good to you.

Ignore my earlier post, I was referring to the Pro-lite line not the Impulse. Sorry about the confusion. I must be losing it.

No problem stevieb! Thanks for the follow up. Finally found them at a really good price and went ahead and ordered 'em today, so no looking back now. Get to go find a compatiible amp now, and that's where I start losing it. What was that equation?: amp power x ohms - decibal level + cable gauge x sensitivity + my stupidity = Blown Speakers. LOL. Let the game begin

Whatever the RMS power - doubled for your amp.
