Hey everybody---we have a great way to share and see whos doing what out in the world at gigs. It's the Photo Gallery----Particularly the one named OUT ON THE TOWN. This is a photo gallery where everyone from around the world can send a pic in and post it up. Right now it seems that I'm about the only one that does this recently. Its becoming KURT's OUT ON THE TOWN GALLERY! Hey how bout we start getting some more participation and more people sending in shots of themselves or freinds singing at Karaoke and particulary of the KJ/Hosts/DJ's working at thier gigs?? The people in the pics really get a kick out of seeing themselves singing pics posted here. And the venues like getting a bit of a mention too! So how bout somemore people besides me start contributing??? It's easy to do and it doesnt cost anything and the people in the pics get a BIG CHARGE out of it! Whats everyone say????
Now a couple of things---the pics HAVE to be less than 120K in size and jpg format. So you have to shoot the pic from a distance and then crop in the image to get to that low of resolution for it to be accepted. Shoot at your lowest posssible resolution setting on your digital camera. Do not give addresses of the venues or Last names of people. But its ok to say something like: "This is Larry hosting his gig at Hotshot Bar and Grill in Bohunk, Iowa". Or "This is Cindy Rockin' out at the SUPER BAR in downtown LA". Stuff like that.  So now that you know how---lets see some more contributions so we can see everyone at thier gigs!

Not to be nit pickey but, have you got everyones permission to use their picture on the web?  Not everyone may want their picture posted all over the internet.  I keep pictures posted at the bar for all to enjoy, but would not post the pictures unless they gave permission.

Thats already been addressed with webguru and KS Management. And yes the people in the photos have all given their permission. If they hadn't I wouldnt have been able to take their fotos----but all these people have been featured in articiles(both KJ's and singers)  Ive written in other Karaoke and entertainment publications or for Karaoke Scene Magazine itself. ---so in addition to their singing or posed pics being published in the magazine of the story they also get their pic put on on the PHOTO GALLERY on KS as an added benefit. So yes they give their permission---enthusiastically. But yes you need to get their permisison first --just dont walk in and start shooting photos.  But this is a fun thing for them to get to see a pic of themselves on a big internet karaoke website. And they see the pic before it ever gets sent down here--they get to pick the photo they want sent. And if you notice there is now a watermark in each photo posted on the OUT ON THE TOWN Gallery-thats in response to discussions with KS Management concerning photo copyrights of KS.com.

In your photo program you can reduce the pixels, resize the picture without cropping it to fit or taking a picture from a distance. I have my own photo albums linked from my web page on Ofoto.com. I take them nightly at each of my shows 5 nights a week, this over a year now.

As a rule I ask if people want their pictures taken. There are people who do not for a variety of reasons. On average I post about 1,000 pictures a month in each album online. I have not had time to upload some of these images here so if anyone wants to see the pictures of my gigs, etc., they will have to venture to my site to access the links. There are too many to post them here for each album. I process each picture and crop for a 4x6 picture. They can be copied at home (printed out).

This has been a great marketing tool as people LOVE to view and have their pictures posted online.
