I've learned so much about everyone from the "MELT" and "CRY" threads.. thought it might be fun to take it in this direction.

We have tons of songs that we love to listen to.......

But.... what song (s) is your favorite to sing and why?

I'll let someone else go first ~~~ :D

"Dream Weaver" by Gary Wright (formerly of Spooky IV)... I just LOVE the haunting melodies. I worked to get it done right, and even now, six years later, it's still my all-time favorite song to sing.

"Let it Rain" - Amanda Marshall
"Broken Wing" - Martina Mcbride (did that for a contest once... won a whole $20 LOL)
"If My Heart Had Wings" - Faith Hill

that was my very first sub here Cindy!

I have it on my website... you have to download it to hear it... angelfire no longer allows hot linking...

on my website, go down two thirds of the way down the home page, to the light blue area... you'll see two songs by me, and one by Tig.

well... I've been trying reeeeally hard to get "Broken Wing" down, but I have to wait till the neighbors go out or something! LOL!

"Let it Rain" is SUCH a good song... takes lotsa power to sing it. So much fun.. it's usually my first song of the night

"If My Heart Had Wings" never in a million years could I sing that one at home... I'll see if I can find a venue that will do live recordings for me!

I can relate to the neighbor thing. We live in a duplex.....and the neighbor works 10 pm - 5 am. So.... its very quiet around here ... till at least 2 pm. LOL....

We never turn on music or anything till at least that hour. And of course... they have a little one... so its quiet again'till 8:30 pm.

But.... everyone needs their sleep .. so we understand.

see.... this is why I want a sound-proof room built into my house... when we finally decide to buy.

seriously... I'd spend my entire day in there if I had one.... foam covered walls...

and I'd have a light switch outside of the room somewhere that my hubby could flick on and I'd see a green light would come on inside my room if he needed me for anything... and then I'd think about asking what he wants! LOL!

AND like on Full House (remember this?) when Uncle Jessie had the red light outside of his studio that was turned on when he was recording... so DON'T bug me! I'd get that too!! LOL!

*sigh* I can dream, can't I?

ya.. we are "old farts" .. LOL but, we want to buy our own place too... and one room will be ENTIRELY for recoding.... audio, video.. the works. My BF run a music/video & internet business... and we are just "crammed" into this place.

Good dreams, Crystal...... make sure ya do it. Make it come true. At least a private room. Wish I'd had the foresight.... but.... didn't know my life would head in this direction when I moved in here. Now... just gotta find a way to afford buying ~~~ now THATS a dream!! LOL

well my Daddy used to build houses, so he can come "inspect" them with me to make sure they're up to code, etc... and Tyson's current boss builds houses as a hobby for goodness sakes... and he can get us some INCREDIBLE deals!! WHOO WEEE! can he ever!

now I don't know what real estate is like there, but here.... and old house... pretty small.... basically the CHEAPEST (liveable) house you can find would probably be $120,000 to $150,000 CND

if you can manage to get a $300,000 home, then damn! that's pretty awesome. Usually means... about 3 bedroom, new house, garage, two baths, etc..

SO... Ty's boss can get us a $320,000 home for about $180,000!! cuz we wouldn't have to pay for labour!! SWEET!! we're DEFINATELY thinkin about that deal!

ok.. sorry I hijacked... continue...

Years ago when I was on the Little Rock We gave a beach party for the Prime Minister of Greece in Athens We had a small band called the little rockers I wasnt a member but they asked me to sing dayo and I had the priveledge of singing and taking the tension out of all the fomalites.

I discovered zorba the greek in the traditional section one night. No english at all Dont have a clue whether I'm singing or pronouncing the words right but nobody else does either.and it is a crowd favorite. People come up and say i didnt know you could speak Greek...I laugh and say thats not greek its busted Italian...But its one of those songs I'll never get tired of singing... Which reminds me I havnt done baby got back for long time might have to sing it tonight....

I *like* to sing 'Dream a Little Dream and 'Invincible'

But... I aint gonna sub 'em (unless I think they sound pretty good) because then I would probably realize I can't do them very well and I wouldn't want to sing them anymore. :bigcry: lol

My favorite song changes a lot! I'll be all gung ho on a particular song and then get sick of it ... because I tend to sing it to death hahaha! I like 'Dream A Little Dream' too Seby.... that was the first song I ever posted online... man was I skeeeered! The mixing was terrible! One of these days I'll redo it! I also love to sing 'One Tin Soldier' ... but I have never recorded it... don't know why.... :?

I think my fav will forever be "Coal Miners Daughter"

I dunno why. Maybe because her words hit home. (my dad was not a caol miner, but the "family life" aspect she takls about is what I mean) The whole "we were poor but we had love......".

I never go out to karaoke- hardly ever- without doing that one once. It is not a complicated song, doesn't require you to "try hard" to sing, no special bells & whistles in it, I just love to sing it.

But, then - I'm a huge Loretta Lynn fan too, so that could be part of it. I just have never found a song to replace that as being my favorite karaoke song.

SHOTGUN- You gonna take your turn now on naming your fav & why? Cause I'd like to hear what it is. (well.....read it) Cool thread. :D

Round figure about now is $1.00us = $1.20 cdn . It been as bad as $1.00us = $1.50cdn. About 30-35 years ago $1.00cdn = $1.10 us. There has been a big fluctuation in the last couple of years.
