Post subject: | One Channel Only ? |
My son in law is recording our songs onto his computer, which is a dial up, he then rips to a cd , which I in turn enter to my computer which is DSL. After recording , he tests it with his earphones and gets reception on both ears , yet after entering the songs to our computer , we play it and it only comes through 1 channel. When listening to the songs on SS if you pull the plug from the earphones slightly from the computer, you can hear the the songs in stero, both ears. The last time he got the correct alignment was on a song he did and sent in directly through his computer. would appreciate any help to rectify the problem Thank you Lenny |

FYI - pulling the plug slightly causes the normal TRS (Tip/Ring/Sleeve) connection to contact 2 different parts causing you to hear it in both ears. This will happen with any recording since it's the way the mechanical connection is designed. As for the other issue, how is he sending the song to you? Is it a mono or stereo track? There are a couple issues here including how he's creating the initial recording. Any more information you could give us would be immensely helpful. |

Hi and thanks for the come back , he will be back to you with any of the particulars I missed in about 1 hour, like the exact way he recorded it , but he ripped it from his computer to a cd disc, I then took it to my machine and transferred it to windows media player, but after palying it , came thru on the left channel only. when he played it on his computer , it came thru on both channels. He previously sent in one song from his computer using the identical methods and it came thru fine. also his computer is dial up ours is DSL , dont know if that has anything to do with the problem, he is much more computer literate than I am. his name is Daniel and thanks again |
