Hi Phill,
The Members who have 10 - 30 and 60 songs accounts, when you have to delete a song to make room for another song when your quota is reached, later on you can't always remember what song it was , so there is a chance you might subbed the same song again thinking its new when its not !
To get to the bottom line, is there a way we can have a database that tells you what songs you have deleted, so it's more easier to not sub the same song again.
It would be a great help because over many months if not years, you can see at a glance what songs you have deleted to make room for the next song so to speak knowing you won't submit the same song twice.
Cheers,
Peter

Unfortunately, when they're gone, they're gone!
The file - Gone!
The info - Gone!
The comments - Gone!
I have no idea what you've submitted!
It is deleted from the database - nothing remains.

Hi Phill,
I'm not sure what you mean when you say (Files Gone) yes I understand that when you delete a song to make room for a new song, it must delete all info. I have deleted 5 or 6 songs so far so I can sub a new one, and yes all the info would have gone. I know this, hence this message.
What I was trying to say is, is there a way we can save the songs name not the songs MP3 to a database before we delete them. We could then enter our name and password via the database to see what songs we have deleted over a period of time.
Am I correct in saying that you have to delete a song to post a new one if you have reached your maximum quota, which is what I have been doing.
In a year's time I may delete a 100 songs to make way for new songs each time, must I have to remember what songs they were that I deleted. Of course I could write them all down on a piece of paper or even make my own database on my PC, but if its on site it would be so handy.
I hope this explains my suggestion a bit clearer.
Cheers,
Peter

Sort of a 'songs I have posted' list? yeah... that would be a neat feature. Maybe song title & the date it was originally posted?

We like to make a Word Doc. of our comments before we delete the song... May sound kinda wierd, but it's nice to look back at comments you have gotten in the past (or replies you made so you dont sound like an ungrateful broken record~which I am sometimes afraid I do ).....
I almost resubbed a song without realizing it...my 9yo daughter heard me recording it and said...'you already sang that one'....when I looked back....sure 'nuff, I had! That's when it hit me that I was OLD!!!

How do you do that NHOH? I can cut & paste one comment at a time using CTL C & CTL V and put it in Works, but I can't get my comment to show up, just a dark box.
I like to keep the comments too, just for encouragement and also vocal pointers!

I just 'select all' ... 'copy' and then 'paste' it in a word Doc. It works for me.
You can PM me if you have troubles....

wanna know what I do? as far as keeping my SUBBED songs separate from my NON-subbed ones...
On my desktop...... I have a folder that says ME and in that folder i have a bajillion mp3's of my recordings.... and one folder that's called "Subbed" any songs that I've allready subbed, I drag into that folder. In other words....As soon as it's uploaded, I put it in the "Subbed" folder. (which is inside the "ME" folder) Works nicely for me

Hi Phill,
I just thought a little more about this Deleted File List, what about a menu from A to Z and I click on F for all the members nic's that begin with F like mine , find FinnPeter click on my name and there are all my deleted songs in alfabetical order with the date I deleted them.
I could also click on any other members name to see what songs they have deleted from the same A to Z menu and get an idea what song next to sub or even ask a member to resub an old song that you see that you like etc.
In this way it would be more easier to program than make a list for every member with password and private view only.
Cheers,
Peter

It was suggested that this topic be restored to the Singer's Forum for others to read.

I just keep a list on paper next to my pc...works very well! Unless you are uploading five songs a day, shouldn't be too difficult...
I typed it up the other day and now I just add to the printed sheet by hand...will update the typed version every once in a while.
I also made a list of what songs I have left that I consider of adequate quality to submit, divided into the cateogories showtunes, country, pop/rock oldies and pop/rock current.
I also made a list of songs that I want to record or learn next, or ones I want to re-record.
I like to make lists, what can I say!
