Oy. I took the cover off my computer for highly super top secret technical reasons only to discover that my hair is now sucked into the computer fan. Sigh. Any ideas? <hiding>

This is why it's very dangerous for some of us to attempt taking the cover off've our computers, or even opening the hood of our car engine. There's very dangerous substances under the hood. Something that appears as easy as adding oil, can lead to blindness when sulfuric acid ends up getting into your eye. Or how many have lost arms and legs when they accidently have an encounter with a fan belt ?

Whoa!! <slapping head> For a moment there I was thinking that technical was a term used to denote specialized knowledge of or relating to a practical subject organized on grouchnologicalific principles...

Thanks for the clarifcation!!

Lin,

You just phrased the question incorrectly. It should have been:

"Oy. I took the cover off my computer for highly super top secret technical reasons only to discover that my hair is now sucked into the computer fan. Sigh. So, Technically, how does one get hair out of a fan? <hiding>
Lin"

See the part where you ask about 'technically getting the hair out of a fan'? That would have made it into the technical forum.... You could always do what I did - I shaved my head when that happened to me!

Ahh, Okay. Let me see if I can apply this info to a new situation. I was just watching the news and saw people from Colorado sliding around on slippery ice coated roads at approximately 10 miles per hour; and some of them actually jumped out of their moving vehicles, hung on with all of their might, and unsuccessfully tried to dig in with their heels to stop their cars from colliding into other cars. Do you suppose that jumping out of a moving vehicle to avoid being in a car accident is a good idea, technically?

I think that this forum is for the world of karaoke, and maybe the equipment used for it.

DON'T THINK that sliding cars counts... lol

LinderlyLinnerz, between you and Steven Kaplan it might be funny to loose arms and legs, but trust me, once you loose any of them and you wake up, it's really not that funny, I know!

No Allstar, I think it's tragic to lose a limb, or experience ANY event that renders one handicapped.
If you followed the context in here, a few of us are saying "We are technical morons". and just using self-deprecating humor, regarding some of the stupid things that can happen when and if we try to undertake anything technical what-so-ever.
I apologise if your feelings were hurt, over a post that was intended to be a lighthearted friendly joke, about how some of us can't even open our computer, or carhood without ending up getting into trouble.
Again, I truly am sorry if anything stated here upset you, or led you to believe that those of us mocking our own inabilities, were acting callous

Nah. I do admit to having an abstract, perhaps even twisted sense of humor about hypothetical things, yet in real, of course those things aren't funny in the least. I meant no harm. Thanks for humoring me, everyone. You guys are keeeeewl : )
