Post subject:  Wireless Microphone(s?)

I'm looking for non-budget busting, good sounding, wireless microphone(s). Any suggestions?

So far I've had a Shuer SM59 that was dropped by a customer and expired, a Samson that was very rugged with bad sound, an Audio Technica that sounded awesome but had lots of interference.... a dual Vocopro that had horrible reception... the list goes on. i'm tired of spending a fortune on my wireless systems.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Carlos

You can send the Shure back to the factory & they'll fix it - generally for about $60-100 bucks.

Audio Technica - there's a good dual wireless for about $199 most places on the net.

And make your customers pay for the smeggin things if they are drop happy!

Seriously... if they're that clumsy, either go cheap wired for those that notoriously are that way, or make them pay for the suckers!

No way would I want to go that way even with less expensive mics.

Would you happen to know the model number?

I have the AS890 (That's Audio Stream, what I was thinking of. Sorry!)

I also have a single wireless from AT, got it at Radio Shack for $99.00 but you'll need a connection cord from the unit to the mixer.

I have been using APi Dual wireless, and been very happy. No interference from Neon, little from cell phones, and decent range.

Oh yeah, the sound is acceptable too....

We have 2 of the Nady UHF 3/HT Handheld Wireless System that we use for our karaoke shows.

The Nady UHF-3 is an affordable UHF wireless mic for a limited budget. DigiTRU Diversity for maximum range and dropout protection, full LED indicators, both 1/4" unbalanced and XLR balanced outputs & more. Includes UH-3 Handheld Microphone Transmitter. At a price of $119.95 you get a clear crispy quality wireless mic for a limited budget.

I just Bought My second NADY UHF-10 Wireless mic so now there's no mic wires to trip over ..Ive waited long enough to see how my First NADY was going to hold up...I cant tell you how pleased I am with both my wireless mic's I have two seperate recievers so its easy to adjust individually...they both connect using XLR connections to my Mixer. the batteries seem to last a real long time.

I got mine for $139.00 each and I think it was my smartest move so far.
now if I can only turn back the clock and not purchase the CAVS unit I have....

I also made the mistake of buying 2 VHF wireless mics for $170.00 I hooked them up once and got so much interference I put them back in the box and they still sit in my Garage....any takers? real cheap Ill sell em.

I think AKG makes a plugin transmitter to convert a wired mic to wireless.

I have the Sennheiser Evolution 100 series with the E835 head. It has never dropped the channel once and has performed flawlessly over the past year. Best of all, I believe it sounds better than my Shure SM58 wired mic. They now have a newer version, but I love my Sennheiser wireless. I don't think you can go wrong with a Sennheiser.

Very happy with the Gemini UX-1600M:

http://www.topdjgear.com/gewihasy16ch.html

For ME it has proven to offer excellent fidelity, on par with my corded Shure mikes, only minimal interference from cell phones if it's in the singers pocket and starts ringing while singer is singing  and GREAT range. Battery life is INSANE. The mike is very hot, great vocal pickup with minimal feedback. I can't comment on the drop test.

$129 to $229 depending where you go...the link above was after a quick Google search and is not an endorsement of the vendor. I'm going to guess someone is going to jump in and say it's crap...getting squeamish when it comes to answering technical questions here, I think it's a good mike bang for the buck.
