Post subject:  Travelling to Las Vegas

Hi all,

My girlfriend and I live in Australia and weare planning to go to Las Vegas in March so we can see Barry Manilow in concert on my Birthday.
While I am over there, I also want to find some good karaoke in the area. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is there a gig guide of places?

Any help will be very much appreciated. I can't wait to come to the US and sing! :)

Cheers,
Gavin

Rumor has it Karaoke Scene may send a crew to Las Vegas soon and fill out the thin spots.

Yellow pages will show you where the karaoke vendors are, they will will have any publications that are around. :D

PM me for a personal preference. :D :D

One of the best Karaoke shows (IMO) that I went to, was only a 2 hour show. It was at Harrah's (Near the Center of the Main Strip) at La Ploya Lounge. TJ's does an Impersonation show (Tina, Cher, Aretha, Elvis, Tom Jones, etc,...) from 6 - 7 PM, then OPen Karaoke from 7 - 9 PM. After that, there are these 2 Sisters that do a Duelin Piano act from 9 - 10 PM. Well worth it to spend some time there.

Another good show (that I remember) was at The Golden Palm Casino. It's just off the Main Strip, about 3/4 mile behind The Excalibur (on that side of Tropicana Blvd). They have Karaoke there every night from 9 PM to 2 AM. I remember the KJ ran a good rotation, and got people up pretty quickly. He als had a very large selection of music.

Ellis Island has karaoke 7 nights, and $1.00 drinks. Hard to beat.
Koval lane west of the Hard Rock.

Calico Jacks, Thurs, Fri, Sat, been there 14 years, Great stage, dance floor, food 24 hours.

Mandalay Bay has karaoke with a live band. Should be great fun.

Great! Thanks for the info.
I heard through the rumor mill that Vegas wasn't really a good city for karaoke as people don't really care for it there. I figured that it made sense because of all the other attractions in that that town, who would want to be doing karaoke?
I will make sure I check out the places you guys have mentioned.

...Keep the info coming.

Thanks heaps,
Gavin

Barbary Coast and Imperial Palace right on the strip. There is also a nice little karaoke shop there called karaoke korner . They are listed in phone book. They are about 10 mins from strip. Have a great time. I was married there and we go back about 4 times a year.

LOL,

Got married at the Tropicana in front of thier waterfall. Although my wife probably wouldn't mind getting married in a karaoke shop. Have fun.
