Post subject:  Had A GREAT Night Last Night

Started a new regular club gig on a Friday night - first night was Christmas Eve (ACK). New Years was surprisingly slow, but management told me historically that had been the case. Well last night started DEAD and I was starting to think, "hmmmmmmmmmmm...maybe that's why they've churned through some hosts on Friday night."

Well it just exploded. Had great singers, had a great rotation, made great tips, and everyone had fun. We did a group sing of "We Are The World" with all singers at last call and got a lot of kudos on how I had the sound system setup. I'm using their equipment so I've made a point to come in about an hour early to learn the acoustics and how to tweak their equipment. I really had it dialed in well this week --

Anyway, I had a GREAT night - sure was better than my New Years!

Great job outdoorplaces,
Our night almost the same. We had a snow storm last night and the owner thought it would be a dead night. We showed up at 8 an hour early to set up and the bartender tells me that the owner said if it was slow to shut down at 10 or 11. :cry: . We already had 3 singers in the bar when we got there and by 8:30 we had atleast 6. So we started an half hour early and there was no looking back. I'm not saying it was a record breaking night at all, but we held our own and looking into the crowd of people in the bar most were there for the Karaoke. 8)

Hope everyone else had a great night.

After 8 years being the front woman at a karaoke show I have now done my third show behind the mic!!!

The first time was Christmas Day evening and we were packed!!! Only problem was Richard was recovering from some dental work and basically sat quietly all night as his energy level was waaaaay below the norm.

Richard did our New Year's Eve show and, as usual, it was packed!!!

I did the New Years Day evening show and it was dead..... Our regulars, come to find out, had drunk enough and partied enough for the weekend so we had a few people come from 2 other bars that were shut down on New Years Day eve...... They were not used to our show where applause is a form of courtesy we try to extend to allllllll singers...... Anyway, I made it through that night & thought I might go back to the other side of the amp but since I love challenges I was behind the amp again tonight..... Richard was realy helpfull running block for me and entertaining the crowd on a one on one levelll...... We were able to keep gobs of people in (singers & non-singers as well) and actually called last call early!!!! If I hadn't done it tonight after the miserable night last week I may have missed the rush that you get when you make someone feel so special!!!!!

Karaoke, gotta love it
karaoke = addiction
