I still haven't figured out how to do a search on these forums, and I know this topic has been covered not that long ago, so please forgive me, I know I'm repeating...
Whenever we cannot complete a rotation before our assigned shut-down time, I try to get everybody up for a final song or two... but I'm running out of ideas for final songs...
Please bear in mind our crowds are generally fairly mature, with the average age I would guess to be 50-ish... perhaps a little more.
Lately we've used: Build Me Up Buttercup - The Foundations Follow Me - Uncle Kracker Knock Three Timers - Dawn The Weight - The Band Goodnight Sweetheart - The Spaniels Happy Trails - Roy Rogers Mickey Mouse Club Theme
Needless to say, Eminem or even Ed Sheeran would probably elicit nothing but blank stares.
So, more sing-alongs... mostly "moldy-oldies" 60s & 70s ideas would be appreciated.

Bohemian Rhapsody or Free Bird or Don't Stop Believing group closing songs always work for me when we do them.

I'm not saying we're ancient... or even old... We may not be completely over the hill, but we can see it from here... We see more walkers than motorcycles, and nobody's ever sung a Slipknot song. No doubt those three would work for your patrons, but I'm afraid mine would be sitting on their hands. Now, if we could just find a Merle Haggard or Tom Jones version of Freebird...... Hmmmm.

20s to 40s. But anyone that listened to those songs when they came out are probably in their 50s to 60s today, bet it would still work.

Probably would. I sometimes end with Night Ranger's Goodbye if I get a chance. More than likely though, I let the last singer end the show it squeeze in a singer who hasn't sung all night.

Not at my shows, but at a certain house I set up at in the basement regularly for a long time I always had to close the night with Stay by Jackson Browne. I don't know if I did that one any other place besides at my house. ha!

I have sung the full version of The Load Out/ Stay by Jackson Browne several times. I only have done it once as s closing song at my show. The only decent version was put out on Monster Hits.

I usually do "All You Need Is Love" by "The Beatles". Big hit.

"the Closing Song" by Red Peters...
Of course, this requires that your club is okay with the F-word.....
But at most of my places, it's a requirement...

Last week I had a party of 8 from an office across the street, giving their co-worker a going away party. They requested “Happy Trails” by Roy Rogers and Dale Evans as the end song of the night (I thought to myself ‘really?’). Anyway, 'reluctantly played it and was surprised to get almost 100% participation. Even the young’uns were standing, singing along and enjoying it. Who knew?
