I have not been to karaoke in several years, so I do not know when this became a thing, but I've noticed that many guys hold the microphone upside down in the air and strut around the bar. If you do this, I hate to say this because you are probably the coolest guy to get to know, but I think you look like a complete douchebag. Maybe I'm just too old to understand you "bro" types. |

I don't care how they hold the mic as long as it is dropped, swung, flung. As long as I can hear them. |

When smoking was allowed in bars, singers used to hold their cigarettes against the microphone, then between verses or during instrumental breaks they would hold the microphone down to have a puff. |
