Hoping you all had a safe an happy New Year's Eve. :)

I woke up yesterday with a COLD and now I can't sing a'tall. Driving me absolutely nuts. My head is all stuffy and my throat is sore. Tried to sing along with some of my favorite tunes and it sounded like someone strangling a CHICKEN... ;);) 8) (not 'choking' one mind you). Have to keep my tissues handy to prevent nose from dripping on keyboard.

Guess I won't be recording for a while. WAAAAHHHH!!!!! And I had finally gotten my voice back into shape after the LAST cold. I swear, I'm gonna start wearing a surgical mask (or better yet, a full-blown gas mask) and gloves every time a kid comes over. Don't guess I could get away with making THEM wear one instead. ;)

Guess I should be drinking some 'C' or something instead of sitting here drinking my morning coffee & feeling sorry for myself. lol

Ok... I'm going to stop venting now.

Chickie, I just got over that cold....the bad part was only 3 days for me, so you'll prolly be better soon.

Hope you get to feeling better soon. I know what it's like to be sick and not be able to sing. I can't stand it! Fortunately, though, I haven't been sick like that in a very long time. Knocking on some nearby wood...

Drink some warm echinacea tea with a little honey and lemon. It might help to get your voice back sooner. :)

Hey Syber,

I'm trying to muster up some sympathy for ya I really am =)... I hope yours doesn't go on and on and on. I have had my sinus infection since Oct. 26th -- seriously -- been on meds twice already & doesn't kick it.

For the first 45 days or so, had zero energy -- which is evident on most of my subs ya listened to. It's only been since the past couple of weeks that I've had energy back to feel like I'm in the land of the livin but still stuffed up -- yay..

I know of quite a few people in the same boat as me. Sick for a couple of months now and meds don't help. It's lovely.

Hope you get better soon.

Yeah, as I just said in your sub... it really sucks because I had JUST (the last few weeks) gotten my voice back in passable shape from the LAST 'flu' or whatever... and now, another cold??Argh!!!

Well, at least we're not making our living from singing right now (meaning hubby & I) cause if we were, we'd be screwed!

I remember that song where I said you didn't have enough energy and you commented back that you were trying to get over a sinus infection... I feel for you, I really do! I guess hubby will just have to put up with my croaking around for a while again.

Wishing you improved health (soon!)
BTW - your Roxy looks like she's singing in that pic heheh :) I just love border collies.

Yeah - she's talkin in that picture -- well I call it somethin other than talkin (B*#*#ing). She's pretty demanding most of the time. Good thing I don't have kids because if the dog rules the house I could only imagine how bad it'd be with kids - LOL>

Yes, it's just great. Feel better a few days & think you're finally on the mend, then BAM - you wake up & you're just as sick as you were on the 1st day again! Wunnerful fun it's been.

I'm in the Midwest & like I said there are quite a few people that I know of that are having the same thing.

Maybe terrorists have contaminated our air .....
*theme from Twilight Zone plays here* :P

I've done all the things that others have recommended in another post somewhere around here too... I have found that if I keep the humidity in my house around 80% that I feel a lot better. Once it dips into the "comfort zone" on the gauge (35-50%) then I'm done for again.

Of course, we have hardly ever had karaoke events around my area, until now that I've been sick it seems like there's one every other week. LOL. I am beginning to think it really is a conspiracy - HAHA.

So sorry to hear that so many of you have been sick lately (Syber, Roxy. Tigger, Atomic).

I too am still fighting with an on-again, off-again sore throat and weird sounding cough! Not allergies, but just keeps coming and going for about a month now.

Let's hope 2005 will be healthier for everyone!

I hear ya, New Day.... Some nice unpolluted fresh air would be very welcomed.

Take Care All,
Cindy

Well as for the 'fresh air' - we figured we'd be better off getting out of 'the valley' (silicon valley - san jose area CA) so we moved up to Oregon for a while. Well, the air was somewhat better, but everything was pine-trees and scrub-brush so it wasn't very lush. We finally decided to head out here (to WV - 'east coast' - sorta) and the air is better in the rural beckley area... but now we're being hit with every bug coming and going, so we have been sick pretty much since we've been here.

I don't HATE kids or anything... honestly!! I love my niece, but I swear they're little walking petrie dishes. Every time we DO manage to both get well at the same time, some kid comes over with a sniffle and we all get sick again. Not to mention, the people here make absolutely no effort at germ control. Kids are seldom told to 'cover their mouths' when they cough, they never wash their hands (even after changing baby diapers - my mom sits a 2yr old during the week) they eat and drink after each other... *shudder*

You know, I've never been a 'germ-o-phobe' in my life, but I'm starting to relate to Howard Hughes.  Anyway, thanks for the sympathy folks. Here's to wishing good health on all of us.

I don't hate them either. One of my brother-in-law's has 4 kids plus a dog. I call going to their house "good birth control" because those 4 plus the dog are enough to make me not want kids any day (only if I can send them back home with someone else).

3 of the kids are the most obnoxious kids I've ever seen. They are all way too close in age. I love them like crazy but it's definitely a challenge.

But we also call the store Target "good birth control" too --- there are so many crying and whining kids in that store I've never seen anything like it.

I know not all kids are this way -- thank God! I would never have been allowed to throw some of the tantrums and act the way some of the kids I see now a days. My parents weren't strict by any means but certain behaviors were just not allowed and bawling to get my way was one of them.

OK -- anywho--- guess that was a little off topic --- SORRY.
