Post subject:  How Do I Find the Right Version?

I just got my own home karaoke machine and I want to start a collection of CDG's. I'm looking for the version of Liza Minelli's "Cabaret" that includes the movie's verse "I used to have a girlfriend known as Elsie".

I do not want to buy one that has the shortened version. From what I was told at my local karaoke store, only Pocket Songs include the length of the song on the label. (the longer version would probably be about 3 1/2 mins long)

Can anyone help me find the right version?

many retailers (check out the site sponsors) have twenty second clips of the songs. look for reviews. karaoke.com does that!

So far, the only clips I've found are from the beginning of the song and don't give me a clue as to whether that verse is included. All I know so far is that the Pocket Song version is only 2 mins, 25 secs long, so that cannot be the right one.

Not sure at your local Karaoke store, but ours will let us demo a cd to see if it is the one you want.

off subject.

Call our local store to see if they stocked a certin disk. They said yes and I told them it would be a month before I get over to get it. Didn't say who I was, then there was a pause.........He asks is this Greg? I said yes and he then said We will just hold this for you the. WOW I thought, if i had been doing bussiness with them for atleast a few years I could see them doing this. But we haven't even been in bus for a year now and in the grand scheme of karaoke I have only spent a little bit of money with them. This store is the greatest.... :D :D Yes Im bragging on the store...

ok i'll quit typing now............

Hmmm.... you're obviously not in RI. Too bad. I'll keep looking for a better store.

BTW, I ordered the CDG that I wanted online and it was only $6.99 with NO shipping fee! How cool is that?? Sounds like this'll work fine for me, as long as it doesn't take a long time to get here.
