Hi...What we have is a live Karaoke band in which we play the instruments and singer come up and read the lyrics out of a songbook....What I want to be able to do is to have the lyrics on screen...Which means we need to have the lyrics synchronized to a click track so that the drummer hears that and we can then play in time with the lyrics...I hope I am making sense..What I was thinking was if I could add the mp3 music file to the lyrics then add a click track to another track then take out the original track of music...any help greatly appreciated...Thanks

You'd need one of the cdg author programs like MTU or DART, there are a few others as well, but I can't remember the names right now. I would take each song into a multi track program like Acid & create a click track to the original then delete the original & save the click track as a wav (or mp3). Then you can import the click & lyrics (you have to create those in notepad) into the karaoke author program. It will be time consuming.

This is what one of the karaoke bands did here anyway.

Thanks for the fast response..Do you know how they added the first 8 bars of click at the beginning of the song...before the song actually starts...We need a 4 count for the drummer and another 4 for him to count us in....Thanks again

I believe they just kept moving the song around in Acid & put in their count beats. I think they only did 4, but it would would with 8 as well (probably better).
