I turned Down 5 jobs.......Rather curl up on the couch in Daytona look at the Ocean with My Girl...and not end Up a Statistic. Too many Amature Drunks out on the road.
Just my 2 Cents :)

We have been at this bar for a short time so at first they were going to have a band for New Years. So no work for me there :D . Get to go out get drunk and let the DD driver drive me home. (Bar is only a few blocks away from our house.) Then owner decides karaoke is more fun and now we have to work, stay sober and get paid :? . Works for me. Then   band comes back, they have no gig for new years. Owner decides ok you can play here. No work for me :?. So I'm going to go and to another karaoke show with friends, maybe drink or not and have fun.....

This has all gone down in the last month. Don't know if I am comming or going. :D

I did them for 5 years......all the Crazies seem to come out.....and they are WAY to rowdy....For the last 2 i have a huge private one at our house....but this year, my mom is sick and so we will just have a nice family one. I can go for that.

LOL, geez I wish I had that enthusiasm for doing a New Years Eve party in a club. Just wait until you've been doing them for 12 years in a row. I do have a good time, but they are more tedious than a regular night as you will generally get anywhere from double - triple the normal singers. Last New Years I ended up with 65 singers - which meant everyone got about 1 song.

I am booked for a house/neighborhood party tonight. A bit of a haul, but it will be fun. For everyone, drive extra defensively tonight!

Better late than never. We had a Band at the bar for New Years, however, during the band's breaks (about 15 min. every hour or so) we did Karaoke. Worked out better than just playing a CD during the break. The lead guitarist told me "Wow, I can't believe how good your Karaoke singers are" The vocalist said "I better start practicing more if I'm going to have to keep up with your singers" A very fun and good night for all. I was especially glad there weren't any amateures out that night and we had "0" problems all night!!
