But the shoe is fitting quite nicely.
Okay lets break this down to Kindergarten language for Spankie the "not so wizard"
I have downloaded Audacity....
I have a Craig Karaoke/DVD/Television System. I have a Macintosh Powerbook (laptop). On the back of the Karoake system I have three connection sites for output in a row. first ...a red color coded hole labeled "V"
a white one with labeled "R" and another red color coded hole labeled "L"
Then, on my laptop I have a small "line in" for audio. The wires that came with my Karaoke system that fit the output connections are a little to small for the laptops "line in" connection. Now send me to radio shack or something with a list! cuz in the words of Glen Stephani.. "I'm Just A Girl"
& I want to record!

Will a standard plug fit into your mic jack?
If it does, then you simply need a cable with two rca connectors at ONE end (one red, one white), and then a standard audio jack a the other end. Now, match up the plugs. L- is for left, and that is white, and R right, and that is the red one.
Then, plug the other end into your line in on your power book.

Will a standard headphone plug fit into your mic jack?
If it does, then you simply need a cable with two rca connectors at ONE end (one red, one white), and then a standard audio jack a the other end. Now, match up the plugs. L- is for left, and that is white, and R right, and that is the red one.
Then, plug the other end into your line in on your power book.
You will also need to make sure that the connectors (the red and white ones) and both male. If you can only get the female end, that you will need a male to female adapter as well.

The line in is an 1/8" TRS connection and the others are standard RCA style connections.
If you go to Radio Shack ask for an 1/8" stereo to twin RCA cable.
Some that will work is Radio Shack Catalog #42-2483 (right angle 1/8" adapter - $7.99) or #42-2551 (all ends straight - $6.99).
Similar adapters are available through many dollars stores, wal-mart, target, etc.
