R&B is different from Blues IMHO.

R&B is more contemporary and more like the Motown soul sound. Things like Barry White, William Bell, Black Moses, The Staple Singers would be more of the R&B sound. Some might even consider Sade and Boyz II Men R&B.

Blues is more typical of Blind Lemon Jefferson, B.B. King, John Lee Hooker, Booker T., Lightnin' Hopkins, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and even some Eric Clapton.

Just my .02 worth....
