I gave you a score of 8. That on the scale is VERY GOOD. You were upset and said I was a tough ranker. You obviously haven't encountered a really tough ranker. I have never been mean or unfair to anyone here. You said your rank went from a 9.7 to a 9.3 after my visit. Guess what, you've had another visit and your score is still 9.3!! So why are you getting on my case about it?? You asked me why I was checking on your sub 1/2 hour later....well don't YOU check you comments to see what replies were given?? As far as I know everyone here would like to see what response they got.

I've listened to a few of your subs and always enjoyed them. Please understand I really was complimenting you even if I didn't give you a perfect score.

And if EVERYONE had given you a perfect score up to the point of my visit, you would have had a 10, wouldn't you?? You're barking up the wrong tree.

If you will get this upset about my visits to your subs, I will stay away. I'm really sorry you took this so personally, as I complimented you all the way, and this is really uncalled for.

BTW, we're not winning any contests here by getting 10's.

And when you said I may have doubted what I originally gave you, the answer is no, I didn't doubt what I ranked you then, today and neither will I change my mind tomorrow.

I fully agree with you about the score you gave Cindy. I think an 8 is a very good score and she should be happy about this. The problem with this ranking (again) is that what do you do in the case where it's not a 10??? The reality is that we all probably don't deserve a 10, that's perfection and let's be honnest, no one is, but, when I really like what I hear, I'm so happy that it's a 10 or no ranking at all!!

In general, I don't rank but I do for some people & you know you are one of them

Has long as everyone knows that when they get a 10 it's just for fun AND not a real 10 coming from the judge at AI or the music industry We're all amateur here, right

My thought is, because this is an amateur site, a 10 is the highest score you can give to an amateur who's done a professional job. I have heard what I considered to be 10's and given them. You're right, it's not AI...God forbid we would have to face the wrath of Simon.

You know I don't allow ranking and haven't for some time. I refuse to let numbers get to me. I much prefer comments. And yours are always the sweetest!

You and me are here for fun, aren't we Micky? I know a lot of other people feel that way. There are some that are a little more serious and have goals. As you know I have one for 2005....

Anyway, it's sad that I've had to defend myself when I gave Cindy an 8 and not a 1 or something. And I'm kinda baffled why she's choosing me to express her ire when NO ONE gave her a perfect score!

Ummm Luly, you're definitely not the first person who's gotten such a reaction from that person. And most likely prolly not the last.

I could say more, but maybe I shouldn't go there....ahh you're prolly all thinking it anyway.

Since Milo is on my msn messenger she and I just had a very nice 1 on 1 chat..all is well there no worries..

Luly's feelings aren't at risk here....She never liked less than a 10 either...She stopped being ranked when it happened to her and deleted anything that wasn't a 10...I was around and remember it and watched it happen...

Connie, let me give you the lowdown on why I deleted my 9’s, cuz what you “remembered” and what actually transpired are two different things:

I had a lot of 10 rankings and a few 9’s scattered about. I noticed there was a part of the Singer’s Showcase called “TOP RANKED USERS”. I thought it would be pretty cool to be on that list, but I wasn’t gonna get there with my 9’s, so I deleted those and kept only the 10’s. When I did that, it got me to number 1, yippee!! But, alas, it didn’t last long cuz there are too many great singers on here! It’s all part of the game and the fun as I see it. THAT’S WHY I DELETED ANYTHING THAT WASN’T A 10.

Ooooh, you talk about Tigger stirring the crap, what was that you just done? Get your facts straight before you go making assumptions. I’m wondering why you never talked to me about that the many times we’ve spoken???? To bring it up here kinda makes me wonder…

I’ll tell you one thing, anyone that gave me less than a 10 when I allowed ranking was always thanked sincerely by me. I have never been short to anyone about what they ranked me the way Cindy was with me. So yeah, my feelings have a lot to do why I started this thread, Connie. A lot of these threads have emotion all wrapped around them as we've all witnessed.

I would love to have Cindy join in and speak her mind here, as this thread was addressed to her.

So....does that mean no hug???

It's only by chance I happened to see this post in the Singers Showcase flashing box. I am not one to be checking out or chatting much in the forums. I much rather prefer to spend my time either singing or listening to all the other people on here sing, that's the whole purpose of this site for me.

Luly, nobody has ever had a problem sending me a pm before you! This should have been between you and I, and not everyone who wants to listen in. I'm positive not many people even noticed the comments we wrote to each other on my sub, since you were close to last to visit. Why you choose to make a circus of it is beyond me. In my mind,I had already put this topic behind me.

I will try to explain to you why I was hurt by your actions....I wondered how, if nine people before you, thought I deserved a 9.7; you could feel it was proper to pull it down. In my book of life, this is called, not handling a situation with consideration and etiquette. If you had been one of the first few people to rank, then I wouldn't have minded your 8.

Everyone on this site has feelings, and you have to respect that when you are ranking. In a situation such as this one, if I didn't agree with the many other people before me, I would just leave a nice comment, and no ranking. Who am I to take someone's glory away? It's too bad you don't think the same way as I do.

Erica Roanne is a completely other story, that I am not interested in discussing, look around and open your ears, and maybe you'll find out some things you don't know about her style of ranking.

Since you have chosen to take this unnessary wide open conversation approach, I have lost respect for you and I would appreciate it if you wouldn't visit me anymore. Now if you will excuse me, I want to go back and listen to some wonderful people sing.

man ive seen this numbers thing take control over a site before....and trust me, it gets really ugly.....i hope you guys work this out, cause things get really hurtful....they really are just numbers you know....dont mean a thing really.....unless you are an olympic gymnast....then they mean a hell of a lot !!! speaking of which i can do a cartwheel....look !!

Well Cindy, I’m glad you finally responded. I agree, this should have been between you and I, but you chose to get all over me when I made some very nice remarks to you on your sub. YOU did that publicly, so fair’s fair. However, I really wanted to PM you and there was no PM button under your profile. I do see there’s one here at the forum, which I wasn’t aware of. Well, it’s all out in the open now, both your side AND mine.

If this is a circus, you most certainly are the ringleader. Why you would choose to be nasty because I gave you an 8 is beyond me. I didn’t look at what 9 people before you gave you, I LISTENED to your sub. I felt it deserved actually less than an 8, but I WAS BEING NICE by giving you an 8. I’m not going to get into why I thought what I thought because you obviously don’t really care about doing anything other than jumping all over me. That was apparent from the beginning. If you REALLY knew anything about consideration and etiquette, you would have thanked me for giving you that very generous 8 along with the kind comments I gave you and went on your merry way without getting all snippy on me. I’m GLAD I don’t think the same way as you do, cuz I have never been mean to anyone no matter what ranking they gave me. And EVEN LESS to someone who was being nice, which was my original intention!

I don’t know who Erica Roane is, but this thread has nothing to do with her.

Your “lack of respect” for me doesn’t matter to me. I lost that for you when I saw how positively bad mannered you are. I don’t have a reputation for being mean and nasty, actually it’s quite the opposite. You can say you're well-bred all you want, but actions speak louder than words. People are very capable of forming their own opinions, and let’s just leave it at that.

And just to ease your mind if you haven’t already figured it out, I definitely won’t be visiting your subs anymore. I know I’m not being forward by thinking I won’t be seeing YOUR comments on mine either.
