Soundchoice's "Hey Man, Nice Shot", by Filter (SC8562). I mean if it was called "the crazy re-mix", maybe it could pass...........idk

What other really really bad ones are out there....(so I can delete them and not be embarrassed if someone picks them!)

Music Maestro's versions of:
1. "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" - Meatloaf (done in the wrong key)
2. "Come Sail Away" - Styx (Radio edit version and done in the wrong key).

Way too many bad ones... Hard to pick a worst.

You'd think professional pride would make someone say, let's make sure we get the tempo and the key right, and at least write out the chords, before we rent the studio, bring in the musicians, etc.

And how hard is it to check the official band site to get the lyrics right? You could do that while you wait for your licensing to come through.

But OK here are a few I HATE.

Dr Music

Great brand, but the Mercedes Benz click track is a disaster. How you can't get a steady rhythm right with no other instruments??? And what's wrong with a chord before the clicking starts? Why even make the damn thing? Acapella would be better.

SGB - gotta name at least one. Arbitrarily, I'll take - Wonderful Tonight off the top of my head since Weird AL has been most rightfully mentioned.

CB/Digi Tracks

Multiple candidates. How you just nail so many good solid country tracks and then totally botch so many that are right in your wheelhouse I don't know...

Cheerleader OMI - did they actually ever listen to that track at all?

Beat It - Michael Jackson. Putrid.

But those are pop and we all know what CB has always been about, but...

Sunday Morning Coming Down - wrong key. How does a brand known for country screw up Johnny Cash? It's sacriledge. Even Nu Tech got the key right.

I Can Take It From There - Chris Young. Did they ever even TRY to sing this one time? Bring in the sheep BAAAAAD.

Sound Choice - great brand always, but...

Separate Ways - Journey what's with that cheesy synthesizer from hell in the intro? You let Priddis kick your butts on a rock classic?

Sailing - bad synth on intro again. Pioneer to rescue.

Nu Tech - almost everything with super loud tingly bells and panflute melody guides, but every once in awhile they screw up and do a disc with none of that like some old musical selections with real instruments or some halfway decent classic r&b and your jaw drops. For them, the good ones ARE the screwups.

I wondered why I didn't have that song listed (since I own that disc)...... it is because it is 6 minutes and 46 seconds long, and my max is 5 minutes. :D

Sound Choice and only because I expected it to be much better coming from a 'QUALITY' source >>>>
SC2305 One by Three Dog Night - the High harmony part really sucks...I have an accomplished vocalist from a local band that wanted to sing that song and I prewarned him. The look he gave me when the high harmony part came in was priceless.

I since have gotten a better version, but I don't remember by who. I would guess Karaoke-version, ZOOM, Mr Entertainer, or SBI.

Boy I will second that this was the one and only Music Maestro disc I ever bought.
Got that disc just for that song boy what a stinker version.

Actually Sound Choice made two releases of Hey Man Nice Shot, they just didn't mark this one as the "1/4 lb mix ftg Johnny Blaze".
So while it isn't the original, it isn't the 'worst version' either. The album version is on SC8756 and it is also dead on to the original. Do not understand why they would release a less popular remix first.

One of the worst excuses for a karaoke track goes to Music Maestro's version of Born On The Bayou - Creendece Clearwater Revival. COMPLETELY & utterly unsingable! Even the SGB looks like high quality compared to this one.

What version are you talking about? The Nu-Tech version (only one I'm aware of) is pretty damn accurate to the original.

This one was based on some of their live performances of the 80's - I have it marked 'live at Budapest Jam remix' underneath the original version in my books. So again technically not the worst version as t was done fairly accurate to the versions they did live later on - just a different version from the original band. Again it does surprise me why they would've chose to release an 80's live version over the original without also releasing the original which they never did.

#6054 - there was hardly a useable (and even barely passable for the ones that were used) track on that entire disc.

Anything by Honky Cat Karaoke. They sound like they were all made on a cheap keyboard with no actual instruments used.

Lonman, you are correct. Three Little Pigs is spot on to the original!
Also I have it on nutech 004 & 005, and know of no other manus
Producing this song it certainly can't be the worst version if it's the only
Version! I seem to have misread the topic title and dropped the ball on this one.

It's been awhile but I've sang that one several times and thought it was good.

Actually... The SC version on 8562 is the "Nickel Bag" remix at approx 3:43 in length.

I heard that mix a lot when I lived in Las Vegas in the mid-90's.

I have a regular who sings the Nickel Bag remix very well.

It was remixed several different ways and used in several productions...

Sober mix (5:14)
Nickel Bag mix (3:43)
1/4 Pound mix (5:00)
Big Mac mix (8:41)
White Like That (Dictaphone Version) (2:12)
1/4 Pound Instrumental (4:59)
Big Mac Instrumental (8:43)
