just sat here rubbing head listening to sting Album, after a very late night on the tiles, and got to thinking hmmm! I wonder how many people on here have a story to tell about rubbing shoulders with the big stars.
Mines very boring, but I thought I would try and start this off..

1: Slepted in the same bed as Sting, (NOT at the same time,Obviously different days) lol

2: was in a covers band with the Bass player of the Spencer Davies band, there biggest hit was *Keep On Running*

3:Shared a dressing room with Lisa Stansfield backstage at some club, before she became Famous.

4: Had a few chats with Eric Haydock out of the Hollies, when He had his own Music shop near me not so long ago,

5: oh and finally my pa is elvis.. LOL NOT!

ok, like I said mines not so colorfull, but i'm sure some of you guys have some great storys to share :)

Well, the only thing I can think of is:

1. I slept in the same bed as Sting (at the same time  )

Oh, you mean we're not allowed to make anything up?! Well then, I don't have a thing to add to the thread then, but I'm looking forward to see what everyone else has to say!!

Jeanne!! Hello?!! Your claim to fame?! you know ME!!!!! What were you thinking?! You forgot me!

(and, we did share a bed that one time...)

Menephes, i am impressed... I have barely been let outta my province, so, not many big stars there, although, while in new york once, I was dancing on the street like an idiot, and ran into a man, and half bumped him over, and it turned out to be ... what's that guys name? LIttle short man, bald head.. someone devito? And he was with that woman... can't remember her name. Anyways, lol, not exactly star struck here. Lol. I am not too impressed by celebrities, or big stars.

Mine is an INFamous one....

When i was 19, 1979, & lived where i do now...my g/f from H.S came to get me for her Engagement party in Denver to a guy named Jim Stillman. Jim was from Evergreen and wanted to also fix me up with one of his boyhood buddies. The guy was totally creepy....i didn't want to..and I didn't. I basically lied to Jim & told him i'd met someone where i lived.

A few years lster, 1981 , i'm married and my g/f calls me and tells me to turn on the tv and the news. I do....AND there HE IS!!!......John Hinkley, who tried to asassinate Ronald Regan!

I never trusted her taste in men...she divorced Jim after 8 weeks of marrige!!

Interesting topic, I got a couple to add ( not real big)
1. Alison Krause autographed my Lawn chair ( I didn't have anything else to autograph ) still proud of that lawn chair!
2. Played 21 in a casino with Buddy Holly's ( crickets ) drummer for 3 hours
3. Was playing drums in a bar band in Salt Lake City, Utah. A guy came up and asked if Charlie Daniels could sit in for a couple of songs, I said sure, and was chuckling about it , when lo and behold, up steps Charlie Daniels- Live. I about choked... He played lead guitar on a 3 songs, and what a NICE MAN,,,,,,, So I guess for a couple of minutes, I got to be Charlie Daniel's drummer,,,, One of my favorite nights

I don't have too many stories, but my fiance, who used to live in LA, has plenty as does my Grandmother who used to work security for the sci-fi conventions in Atlanta.

1. Sat down and had a beer with 2 members of Concrete Blonde after they played a small club in Huntsville, Alabama.

2. My fiance is a Dr. Pepper girl.

3. My fiance tap danced in a Taco Bell commercial.

4. Talked with Mark Leonard at a sci-fi convention (he played Sarek, Spock's dad in Star Trek).

My fiance's stories are much better though:

1. Did makeup for Richard Pryor and George Carlin (she was a professional make up artist and she did the makeup for one of Brenda Carlin's community theatre productions (this one was called 'Short Eye') when she was in school - George/Richard were not expected).

2. Her and her girl friend were invited back to Billy Idol's house to 'party' by Billy Idol at a stop light.

3. She almost hit Kobe Bryant with her car (right after he started playing with the Lakers).

4. Her old girl friend is/was a recruiter to sign new talent with Sony (she hasn't talked with her in a number of years though). MY fiance got to meet some bands before they ever really got signed.

5. Did makeup for a Billy Preston video, Vickie Lawrence, Rick Dees (and his sidekick), a couple soap opera people, and one

6. Micheal Jackson used to come into a store she worked in and talk with her.

7. She was in line with Kevin Bacon at a fish taco stand in Malibu when her sister-in-law had a nervous breakdown screaming 'OH MY GOD! It's KEVIN BACON!' over and over. He had already ordered and paid for his food but when the Sis-in-law went crazy he got in his car and left before he even got his food. She says Kevin Bacon looked pretty scared. We say that her sister in law terrorized Kevin Bacon.

8. She did the makeup for the Ratt video 'Round and Round'. But Milton Berle brought his own make up artist.

9. She used to talked with Mr. T on a regular basis. He was shooting 'A-Team' at the same time as she was going to makeup school on the same lot.

10. She talked extensively at a party one time with Nicholas Cage right after he finished filming 'Valley Girl' but before it was released.

11. My fiance's dad lives across the street from Stanley Clarke.

12. She used to be a regular at 'Screamin' Jay Hawkins' shows in California and she talked with him a little. BTW, she's one of the few people to get thrown out of Club 88 (a punk rock club) who didn't end up in a police car.

Remember she used to live in Hollywood (on Melrose Avenue), Santa Monica, Malibu, and Agora Hills so she was around these people all the time. The stories are usually pretty funny... and sometimes she's a little embarassed (like when Richard Pryor showed up she didn't have any makeup for anyone with a dark complexion. She was trying to mix up rouge to get the right color... she always brought a full makeup kit after that.).

My Grandmother worked security at a number of conventions in Atlanta so she got to rub shoulders with all the orignal Star-Trek cast, etc.

Like I said, I don't have many stories but my fiance and grandmother do.

Woot! I got some great ones!!!

1. I met Victor Spinetti...he played Dr. Foot in "Help!" Woohoo, and he said he also knew a man names Jason....Jason Connery...who is so not related to Sean Connery! LOL, ok, so it wasn't that great.

2. Sebastian Bach made eye contact with me while performing Jekyll and Hyde here in Raleigh...a high point in my life!! OMG!!!

Ok, so they're not that great....lol, but they are totally true!!

Jason

Well, now that it's all all over the tabloids that I slept in the same bed as Gilly, I'll have to confess about that one!

And...my hubby had lunch with Sinbad! This was when he was on Star Search so it might not count...

My only pathetic one is that, oh wait I can't believe I have more than one.

1. In the early 80's, when I was a bagger at Alpha Beta in Santa Cruz, one of the Doobie Brothers came in and was shopping; can't remember his name; Scott something maybe.

2. A couple yrs later I was taking a night class and an olderish lady was there who said she was Kenny Loggins' cousin and remembered changing his diapers.

Thoughta another one...

3. Last year, at this bar I used to hang out at where I first sang karaoke, the drummer from Dokken would sometimes be there. Some of us wondered who this guy was at first, cuz he obviously had that "band" look; trendy-looking spiky hair...just seemed polished and band-y, kinda Euro-looking. I saw him at the local Outback too.

Menephes, this IS a great idea!! I'd never have known all that about you and the others. And how can you be so modest thinking that your brushes aren't much....my goodness.

This gives me an idea for another thread; I'll do it later so this one gets its proper due.

Well I have a few...

1.When I was in High School, I attended the Ohio State fair. Thru an honor I had recieved was sitting front row beside walkway of the stage of a Johnny Cash concert. It was pouring down the rain as the show began ...Johnny walked out on that walkway and said "If you all are good enough to sit in the rain and listen, then I am good enough to stand in the rain and sing for you".. and he did...Before that show was over he held my hand and sang to me, then kissed my hand...We got to go onstage later and meet some of the band members and I was given a harmonica of his also. ( I was thrilled)

2. I was at a convention where BJ Thomas was our entertainment. He kissed me...Yes, I got a picture (somewhere)..

3. My girlfriend and I found out where Tom Jones was staying during a concert he did in Huntington, West Virginia..We went there to try to get a glimpse of him....He walked right by us, stopped to talk and kissed us both. (softest lips ever!!) My girlfriend took our picture and was so excited she cut our heads off in the pic, lol...

4. Met Sam Kinneson at a casino in Vegas and got his autograph for each of my sons...He was very nice...

5. Sat onstage beside Andy Williams at a convention..He gave hugs and a lil peck...

6. Got close enough to touch Kenny Rogers shirt at a concert once...(whopee)

7. Attended an Easter production at a large church here in Orlando, and right behind me two seats to the left sat Tammy Faye Baker...lol...Yes, I had her autograph my program....

8. Took my Father to a Randy Travis Gospel concert here in Orlando when Daddy first came to live with us...It was a free concert with 1,000 tickets given out...It was for the recording and filming of Randy's gospel CD and DVD that are now popular. Daddy was was so touched by the music and fellowship we shared that night that when they had Alter call at the end, Daddy went forward and accepted Christ as his Savior....That's my best story..!! Daddy was 73 and had not done so before...Randy helped me lead my Daddy to the Lord, I think that's about as cool as it gets!!

9. Daddy tells me he knew Hawkshaw Hawkins....

10. Was crowned Miss Ohio festivals and kissed by Robert Fuller (from the old tv show "Emergency")

11. Met the guy who now plays Adam Chandler on ALL MY CHILDREN. But, when I met him, he was famous for acting on Bonanza..

12. Met Bradford Dillman (actor) at a film debut of the movie "BRIDGE AT REMAGEN" (way back in the 70's)

My Maiden name was Tucker...Daddy always jokingly told me I was Tanyas cousin ( pretty sure he was pullin my leg on that one)..

Ok Mene, those were my brushes with the fancy folks...

I talked to Donny Osmond on the phone when he was at a local radio station. I actually managed to get a few unintelligible moans out before I remembered how to speak.

I shook Al Roker's hand 2 years ago when we visited the Today show. Both me and hubby were on tv for a few seconds, hehe. He's so much thinner now...Al, not my hubby, lol!

I'm hoping to meet a verrry famous person soon, if all goes well. My little secret...hee hee.
