Ya know, when Allstar and Wannabe left the site, I read a bit of the thread that he had posted, saying that he was leaving the site. I wasn't quite sure, exactly why he had chosen to leave the site, but I did notice that he didn't name any names or make any harsh statements. I was shocked at the rude and downright mean comments that some people left on that thread. I notice that the thread has been removed. I have no idea why it was removed, but I'm assuming that it must have gotten a bit out of hand.

Heck, nobody busted my chops over my horrible mixes as bad as ol Allstar did, but I didn't care, I knew he was right! !! He's a guy that says it like it is and I loved that about him!!! He's an alright guy in my book and I'll stand by him any day!! Same holds true for Wannabe!

I know you'll probably never read this Allstar, but at least I'll know I posted it!! Miss ya buddy!

I agree with you, Steve, I miss them, too. Allstar left comments...constructive comments...that you could use (or not-LOL) to improve. He was always willing to help. I miss his sense of humor! I also miss listening to his and Wannabe's tunes.

I too miss both of them!

Not only did I think they were very good singers but I really enjoyed there honest support! Don't know why they left but I'm sure they miss the gang & the good times we had!

I'm glad I recorded AllStars EP performance (Show) that he did, that's a classic, I had friends who really enjoyed it!!

Steve, that thread was very confusing.
I came to AllStars defense in it and then I had people telling me that it wasn't true, he was just kidding and wanted to start a spirited thread.
So, I wasn't sure what to think....than....before I knew it... they were gone!

I feel very bad....I too, miss them and wish they would return.....it's not
the same without them.

ok ok.... can I clear a couple of things up?? ! Apparantly.... I don't think anyone got the joke in the thread...

Ok... so.... a while ago... Wannabe and Allstar were sayin how this place is kinda boring and they wanted some drama they were looking for a fight (That's what the title of the thread said.... "Looking for a fight")..... then admittedly.... the thread got taken over by smilies by me and a few others.. Not intentionally btw.

So then... that same night.... Allstar said he was leaving... so I posted after him, That big rant about "Good riddance" and "What u think people are gonna be sad when you leave?" at the very end of the post I'd said "you wanted drama....." That was completely a joke!! I was just trying to be funny and give him the drama he was looking for.... A couple of people took it the wrong way (I believe NHOH was one of them) But someone else had explained the joke thing.... how he wanted drama. So then it looked like all was ok. I wouldn't have said anything quite that harsh if I really meant it!! I was just over-exaggerating the fact that he wanted drama. Perhaps someone with my reputation shouldn't have been the one to start the exaggerating. Afterall I've been known to duke it out with Allstar a few times... OH YEAH! one other thing I should point out. Allstar and I had called a Truce in a PM conversation way before this whole "looking for a fight" thing happened.... Everything was all good between us..... could be the reason they were "lookin for a fight" in the first place?? Cuz WE made up! !

Maybe that helps explain the joke thing.....

There. Just had to clear that up. I agree this place isn't the same without 'em....... but c'mon guys... I'm sure some of you out there can start some rants to keep in interesting!!!

I miss them too...Not only did I enjoy listening to their subs, their encourament was so supportive. Allstar had a way of telling me how I could improve and what I should try and did it in a supportive manner...I never felt offended.

Maybe they are just taking a break, with holidays and such coming up, everyone is just getting so busy. We can always hope that's what it is.....

i saw him splitting a peanut butter and banana sandwich with elvis down in tupolo mississippi at a gas station diner....so dont fret folks ...hes out there.....watching.....waiting.......nice to see a positive post for a change dealing with allstar...good job steve !! i didnt know him to well but i will say its weird around here without him and the mrs.....if i know him at all i would think this was a joke....hopefully it is.......

Please let me explain.

#1. Us leaving was not a personal issue with any member on this forum.

#2. Both Wannabe and myself just had to take a break from it all. We were spending way too much time on the karaoke forum and singers showcase.

#3. The discussions that were on the board were not related to why we joined this site. Karaoke ! and the ability to get honest, down to earth critque.

#4. Wannabe and I take our music serious; even though we were told many a times that karaoke is just for fun. We practice, do and re-do, record and re-record. We play different music instruments and write our own music. So music to us is serious, even though we have fun doing it!

Too many a time (pretty much every time) we were given the fluff, 10's and wonderful! Knowing damn well we didn't deserve it. I tried and tried giving my honest opinion, hoping it would ripple out to others, but unfortunately it didn't. You people are way, way to nice and sweet.

We did have a great time here and so much enjoyed the friends we made. Also this thread that Steve started is truly appreciated.

Steven Monen and A New Day - you've always been good friends and we had a couple of good laughs! We knew how to make jokes but the respect was always there for each other.
imatunelover – always a pleasure listening to you GrL, never a bad word even though my critique was not always exactly what you wanted to hear.
Micky – A great vocalist and performer. You can handle critique and deal it out. Great technical know-how and we had some real good techie conversations.
NeverHeardOfHer and Old Paint – A lovely couple that were very supportive.
Miss Milo and Crystal – So we had a few arguments, but then again, they were resolved!
Likestolisten – That’s my GrL! The sweetest around and bestest friend!
Melly – You’ll always be a nutcase, nothing will change that. I did enjoy all your inputs!
Dumbdrums – What a rocker! Great voice and we had a nice argument! As with Miss Milo and Crystal, it was sorted out and all’s OK!

To all our friends out there we would like to wish you a Peaceful and Merry Festive Season and a Prosperous New Year.

I do understand taking a break from it all. I've gone up and down on the amount of posting I've done on boards I'm active or semi-active on. I do hope you return in the near future though.

Something for you to keep in mind is that it takes a trained ear to differentiate between subtle differences in mixes. Many of us hear some of the most horrible renditions while out at karaoke and when comparing the posts here they are indeed far better than what we often hear. Many of the members here don't have the dedication to music you, wannabe and some others have. I'm not saying they don't take their karaoke seriously, I'm saying they don't spend the time you do on postings or honing their craft. It's not bad, just a fact. Many of thoes that are knowledgeable enough to determine fault or issues with your posts are trapped in a quagmire of political correctness or a desire to avoid offending someone - especially someone who has highly honed verbal skills and is quick to point out when someone is wronged (think the past arguments between yourself and an unnamed party - a newcomer seeing that might be intimidated by the exchange of words and choose to blow smoke over a more pragmatic post - unfortunate, but true).

Take a break if need be, but when you decide to return, you fill find many of our arms wide open, eager to hear your opinions and listen carefully to the advice you have to offer. Enjoy your time away, we look forward to your return.

BTW, stay in touch! If you plan on going to Deal's Gap next year (a large Miata gathering in Tennessee) then by all means let me know. I'm hoping to be there myself and would love to meet the infamous allstar and wannbe in person!

hey wannabe and allstar ...got to wondering last week...where are those two....you normally sub the same time as me...I just thought you had gone away for a while, but not till just now after reading all these messages to you and your response did I realise that you are really not coming back
Seems I am not going to hear you guys any more....but I understand the need for a break ...and your total commitment to your songs...you can hear it in your subs...and YES it was me who gave ya a 9 allstar because ...well just because it wasnt as good as your others.. pheewww feel so much better getting that off my chest..
I will miss your honestly and your help...but I do wish you happy singing and a wonderful life way up above ...

I hope you guys are just taking a break, same as I am...I'm still checking out the threads and listening but not like before. I was getting really burnt out between the housely duties and keeping up here.

I hope to come back after the hoildays and join in the fun once again. And I really hope I see you two here as well. If I don't, it was wonderful knowing both of you and I will always especially be appreciative to you Tony, for the help you gave me so unselfishly.

Well...I read your reply Allstar and I have that much more respect for you. I know you and Wannabe did take your music very serious and I so respect that. Music is very personal and you bare your soul each and every time you sing or play an instrument in the presence of others. You want the truth..good or bad.. You were candid and you did speak your mind especially when someone pushed your buttons...... You and Wannabe are great people and I was proud to have known both of you. I hope to see you around again.. As you know, I take alot of breaks and I enjoy this site when I can so I tend to pop in and out every now and then. Take care you two!!

It is typically people like this make me sick. I have had many an argument with members here but never had the need to get this personal. People like drummin22nwv have no idea about the history of this site, neither do they know me, but are quick enough to attack. It's pretty sad!

I think that post (drummin22nwv) makes it pretty clear that there are people here who just pop in and don't really know what's going on... and then there are people here who obviously have invested a lot of time here and these are the people who keep this site going. The people who care. We all vary and have different opinions about just about everything and that will not change. You will always have new people (or peeps that don't spend much time here) coming in and questioning why this and why that... jumping to a conclusion from one post. Obviously there are many more who have taken the time and read your many posts and listened to your submissions... these are the people who know better. And the people who feel hurt when someone as vested as you two says goodbye. Nobody can change this place single handedly... and it will never be perfect... EVER! But if the people who care hang around and try to give their 2 cents... it will make a difference. There will always be fighting and disagreements. Everybody thinks THEY are right... and nobody is! It's all just opinions. As we have been seeing each day... Phill has made every effort to accommodate each person... and as for the majority of the people here... well... I think most are here to have fun. Some are serious... some are not. That is a fact that we can not change. I think many of us (including myself) can get too wrapped up in this place... and get VERY upset over things that are said! I can find myself getting soooo upset and having to step back and tell myself... this is just a website! BREATHE!!! But I do get very wrapped up in the drama... mostly of the people who are invested here.... I don't give much of a thought to the ones who are just throwing in a little match to start something... we can all see what that is all about! I can see why we all need a break from time to time... I have been on one myself.... some of us have a hard time checking the posts and then just walking away and getting on with the day... that's me! And it's hard just listening to a couple of submissions... I always want to click on one more! And so on and so on... So I am gonna post this and LEAVE and go out and on with my day and wonder what you guys are doing.... have fun!!! I shall return!!! I hope you come back after your break Allstar and wannabe... I think this place is better with both of you here. We need that kind of passion from someone who cares! But it's a compromise to stay... and a job to make a difference... not for the meak.... it is what it is.... but perhaps you can make a difference in some way. We'll never know if you are not here.
