My favorite (and in some cases, least favorite) quotes: "AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!" (when someone sings Red Neck Woman for the fourth time in one night) "Thank you, thank you very much" (by the Elvis clones... I think the plural may be Elvi) "Once you put it in the hopper, you can't pull it out!" "Can I start again please?" "The Cha Cha Slide must die!" |

This isn't my song. (Meanwhile its the song they listed on the request) One key up, Another key up, two down, another down, one up, Thats perfect. (A singer actually did this to me one night, I wonder if she realised that she ended in the key she started with) |

How about 5 people simultaneously verbally requesting songs for them to sing and they expect me to remember what the hell they all just said. The classic, "Yea this guy over here is going to sing this song". And then they point to a direction where there are 7 or 8 guys and walk away. <little do they know I don't have that song>('') I guess they would know if they looked. Why do I bother even printing the books out. People don't listen very well when you tell them over and over to put the info down on a slip of paper so I can find the damn thing. Oh well sorry about the rant. I just actually got home from a pretty good gig. These are really just minor nuisances but I still find them funny. |

Not strictly karaoke but one of my faves... Singer - "Any requests?" Heckler - "Yeah, pack up and p*** off!" Singer - "OK, I'll do that one at the end of the night " |

The scenario: Worst singer in the whole joint, always sings country music (i.e. Faith Hill, Shania Twain or Gretchen Wilson). Her first song of the evening is "I'm Outta Here." She steps off stage afterward and the KJ says, "Yep, you're gone!" Many more singers later we're into the 2nd rotation. She now sings "Bye Bye" by Jo Dee Messina. Once the squawking has finished, the KJ says, "OK, first you threaten us with 'you're outta here' and now you're saying 'Bye Bye'. So why are you still here?" |

Ya know that song "The Old Rugged Cross" and how the very first lyrics are "On a hill far away...." well... when I used to walk around singin like a lunatic at the top of my lungs..... when I still lived at home.... (I'd NEVER sing with my serious voice when ppl were around) My dad used to go "Can you sing 'on a hill far away'?" so naturally I'd start singing "The Old Rugged Cross"....... yeah that's not what he meant! ! |
